Yesterday I watched an old movie, I feel very interesting, so I would like to share with you, the film is called "Miracle in the Green". It is based on Stephen King's novel Miracle in the Green, which tells the story of Paul's memories of his youth in an old people's home.
The film is a memory of the protagonist Paul, who was a prison guard in Cold Mountain Prison when he was young. There is a special place in this prison, because the floor there is green, so everyone calls it "Green Li". In this area, there are vicious criminals living in the area, and they are all people who have been sentenced to death. And our protagonist, Paul, is the director of The Green Mile Prison, and he has long been surprised by the screams of death row inmates when they are executed.
On this day, a special "guest" came from Lengshan Prison, saying that he was special, because this "guest" was too tall and mighty. Only to see him wearing a white coat, slowly walking down from the prison car, the more attentive prison guards noticed that when this "guest" left the prison car, the tire of the prison car was immediately raised by a few centimeters, which was enough to describe the image of this "guest". Looking at the "giant" in front of him, the surrounding prison guards all raised their vigilance, afraid that he would suddenly burst out of prison. Fortunately, what the guards feared did not happen, and the "giant" acted quietly, as if he was not facing something terrible.
Just as the guards were handing over their jobs, one of the guards, Jim, suddenly yelled at the Giant and even insulted him. The surrounding prison guards have long been strange about this, because this prison guard named Jim is a second-generation official, and it is not himself who scolded him today, so no one stood up and spoke at all. Faced with this situation, only Green Lane's supervisor Paul stepped forward, warning Jim not to get too far, and even prisoners should be treated with due respect. After saying this, Paul sensed a beam of gaze, which was that of the "giant." Looking into the eyes of the "giant", Paul was stunned, and in those eyes, there was nothing tyrannical, some were just calm, kind and gentle.
Recalling the eyes of the "giant", Paul did not believe that he was a murderer, and out of curiosity, Paul found the information of the "giant", who turned out to be named Kofi, who was sentenced to death by the judge for killing two children. But Coffey's temperament made Paul think that he was not a murderer at all, but so what, Paul was just a small prison guard, he couldn't do anything. Time passed like this day by day, and Lengshan Prison welcomed a new "guest", this "guest" is somewhat special, he is a mental patient. When the "guest" was sent to Green Mile Prison, Kofi took advantage of the lack of preparation and grabbed Paul, who told him to be careful of the "guest".
Sure enough, when the "guest" arrived at Green Mile Prison, he suddenly broke out, grabbed a prison guard, and asked Paul to open the cell door and let him out. But where the prison was so easy to get out, soon the "guest" was caught by the prison guards who rushed to the scene. However, Paul was a little unlucky, and while arresting the prisoner, he was kicked by the madman, which made him very uncomfortable. Coffey looked at Paul in pain and called him to his side, only to see Coffey holding Paul's hand, and suddenly a strong light broke out between them. When the glare disappeared, Paul was immediately stunned, he could no longer feel a trace of pain, not only that, but even his prostate disease was cured. Paul knew that this must have been Kofi's doing, but in the face of Paul's questioning, Kofi acted calmly, and he did not say anything.
At the same time, the second generation of the official Jim is still in prison, facing the prisoners, Jim either beat or scolded, and what is even more speechless is that Jim also trampled to death a pet rat raised by a criminal. You must know that this mouse is not ordinary, he can be said to be the mascot of the entire Midori Prison, and it is precisely because of its existence that the prison will not look so cold. Looking at the sad people, Kofi stood up, only to see him pick up the little mouse, after a burst of strong light, the little mouse returned to life, until this time, the crowd discovered Kofi's superpower. When the old warden learned of Kofi's ability, he hoped that he could save his wife, who was seriously ill and was dying.
After listening to the warden, Kofi agreed without saying a word, and successfully saved the warden's wife. After all this, Kofi's sentence also arrived, and just as he was about to be sent to the execution ground, Kofi used his superpowers to take control of the second generation of the official Jim and shoot the mad criminal. When Paul asked Kofi why he did this, Kofi still didn't say anything, just held Paul's hands and passed on his superpowers to him. Paul did not have superpowers, and there was a memory in his mind, through which Paul learned that the madman was the murderer of the child, and That Kofi had been wronged. But he knew too late, Coffey had been stripped to death, and looking at Coffey's body, Paul was so powerless that he couldn't do anything. In the end, Paul was transferred from his old post and became a prison psychologist, hoping to redeem every prisoner in his own way.
"Miracle in the Green" tells a story about the meaning of life through Paul's recollection, and the film uses the relationship between prison guards and death row inmates to express the intricate psychological conflicts between the characters. In the film, "good" and "bad", "good" and "evil" are sharply contrasted, so that the audience can see at a glance the ideas to be expressed in the film. After watching the movie, I think it is a touching movie, it makes people willing to believe that there are still "miracles" in this world.
