On 1 July 1646, Gottfried William Leibniz was born. Leibniz is known as the "Aristotle of the seventeenth century", a famous German philosopher, mathematician, and a rare scientific genius. He and Newton are both founders of calculus, occupy an important position in the history of mathematics and philosophy, and have made a lifelong effort to promote cultural exchanges between China and the West, which has produced a wide and far-reaching impact. His representative works include "Theism", "Monotonism", "On the Natural Theology of Chinese" and so on.

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz was born in Leipzig to his father, a professor of ethics, but died when Leibniz was 6 years old. Leibniz taught himself Latin at the age of 12 and began to learn Greek. At the age of 14, he entered the local university Leipzig University to study law and general university courses. After receiving his doctorate in 1666, Leibniz served in the High Court of the Archbishop of the Elector of Mainz. In 1672 Leibniz was sent to Paris and entered the Circle of Knowledge in Paris, a period in which Leibniz studied mathematics in particular and invented calculus.

In 1676 Leibniz left Paris to take up the post of Duke of Johann Friedrich in Hanover. In 1679, Leibniz invented binary and studied it systematically to perfect it. Leibniz died in Hanover on 14 November 1716.
