The Internet subverts the habit of obtaining news
Beijing News: With the rapid development of the Internet, what challenges are there in media communication?
Chen Changfeng: The biggest challenge is that technology has changed the public's habits of using media. Internet technology has subverted the original public's habit of obtaining news by reading newspapers, watching television, and listening to radio, and if the media still adheres to the original form and publishing form, it will certainly not work. When the original model is subverted, it is necessary to change itself and establish a new model. If the traditional media continues to survive, it will be submerged in the challenge of the mobile Internet if it is not connected.
Another challenge is that the media ecology, including technology, politics and culture, is changing, and the orientation of media positioning and media people will also be different. The scene that has triggered the enthusiasm of many media people has changed, and the original enthusiasm and ideal state of many media people are difficult to sustain. This transformative context, the media and practitioners do need a new adaptation process.
Beijing News: You have been engaged in journalism teaching for many years, how do you view the transformation of the media?
Chen Changfeng: Every time there is a transformation, the media is very painful, because there is no ready-made solution, and the transformation process will also take a detour. But transformation is a transformation, and transformation is to be reborn. Every transformation of the media is a big wave, leaving behind real gold. With each transformation, new heroes have emerged, and a large number of media have fallen.
Some media people dare not face up to this challenge, and some cannot see the situation clearly. Previously, I hosted a forum, and some media people said that they didn't know how to transform now, just wait for the People's Daily to make a model, just follow it.
Beijing News: How should media integration be done, and what paths can be taken?
Chen Changfeng: Media convergence requires full cooperation with new platforms, which is an important direction for media transformation.
First of all, we must break the traditional thinking, be able to do it, and keep up. In the past two years, micro-video has rapidly occupied half of the news dissemination. Not long ago, the People's Liberation Army Daily opened a Douyin account, which was the first military media to appear on Douyin.
In addition, there must be a basic concept, which is to use which platform the user is. Formally, traditional content needs to be quickly decoupled into fragmented information to adapt to mobile transmission.
Beijing News: What do you think should be the relationship between traditional media and new media?
Chen Changfeng: Traditional media and new platforms should interact with each other and are interrelated, not antagonistic, and the two should complement each other, cooperate for win-win results, and improve together.
Media transformation must be socialized
Beijing News: In the past one or two years, many news APPS have been launched, what should the media pay attention to in this kind of news "big war"?
Chen Changfeng: A big feature of future technology is mobility. This necessarily requires the media to change the solidified form. APP is only a product of modern mobility, but in the long run, APP as an export of news has a big problem, that is, users must download.
Therefore, the top priority of the media is to complete the social and relational construction. The media of the future will not be atomized individually, but will become a large community, a media community in which you have me and I have you.
Beijing News: In the Internet era, the pace of information release is accelerating, and the authenticity, reliability and security of information have become difficult problems, how should we solve it?
Chen Changfeng: The pace and frequency of information release are fast, and the lack of necessary precipitation will definitely bring damage to the authenticity and accuracy of information, and there will be inaccurate information and even rumors. For the media, the facts still have to come first. For media people, they must have determination, have their own values, and use correct values to guide the public's judgment of events. The greatest value of professional media is certainly to maintain its professionalism and maintain the correct guidance of information and public opinion.
The rapid development of the mobile Internet has brought many challenges to media communication, and Professor Chen Changfeng, executive vice dean and professor of the School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University, believes that in response to this challenge, traditional media can continue to survive if the transformation is successful, otherwise it will be submerged in this mobile Internet tide.

Looking ahead to the next five years, what trends do you think will be in the world's Internet industry?
Chen Changfeng: The Internet of Things is a general trend, and there may be "networking of people", that is, the connection between people, the connection between people and things, and the connection between people and the network. Even through some intelligent devices, the human mind can be displayed directly in the network.
What are your expectations for the coming year?
Chen Changfeng: I hope to enhance the advantages of professional media and make news with professional standards, no matter how the technology changes, news professionalism is the core value. It is also hoped that the media can use new technologies and new platforms to make the integration more in-depth and the media more powerful.
