Reading Yong Xujun's many landscape paintings in recent years, full of smoke and clouds, bamboo trees, or ravines and lonely, pavilions and pavilions, or lush grass and trees, clear streams, people can't help but gush out of the mind of the wind and water, lying stone and watching clouds and other ancient poetic charm. Whether it is the truth, goodness and beauty that fills the pen and ink, or the spirit exuded in the painting scene, it almost subverts my inherent impression of young painters after the 90s, and the impulse to describe him and the landscape at the bottom of the pen is also nourished in my heart.
As the essence of culture and art, Chinese landscape painting has a long history and vigorous temperament. Since the Sui and Tang dynasties, it has not only stood out from the subordinate status of the wei and Jin dynasties for the painting of figures, but also began to form a three-legged trend with figures, flowers and birds in the middle school painting world. From ancient times to the present, whether it is ink landscape or green landscape painters, they are all elite and orderly. There is no doubt that as a young painter in the new era, Wang Yongxu has also made some hard work in the study and creation of landscape painting, and his brush and ink better carry the traditional literati painting resources, and he has deliberately added some new ideas to many expression techniques such as pen and ink, composition and color setting. It is not difficult to see that from the artistic thinking and aesthetic orientation presented in his works, there is still the blood of the ancients and predecessors flowing in Yongxu's body, and although he is young, it is really valuable that he can have such an active pursuit of borrowing from the past and opening up the present!

He is good at handling the relationship between black and white and dense through the skills he has mastered, and strives to be harmonious with each other from the aspects of schema structure and pen and ink methods, although his landscape is deliberately carrying tradition, it is rarely like some stereotypical painters in self-righteous expression of self-esteem and self-satisfaction of the creative mood, more is borrowing the beautiful image of mountains and trees to sprinkle their own praise of nature's joy. Therefore, the work exudes more of a cultural temperament that is closely related to traditional Chinese culture and national art.

During this period, some painters also tried to express their ideals through innovation with the times, often losing their inherent grace due to excessive decoration, and even becoming rigid, losing the masculine grandeur and exhilarating temple atmosphere of the Tang and Song dynasties in a very unnatural way. Because of this, it has become a consensus that the painter's own intelligence and diligence are the key to a good work. Yongxu is smart and quiet and diligent, especially hard-working, often he does not quit the case, arbitrarily swinging, or outdoor sketching, or classroom lectures, or with the teacher to watch the exhibition, there are few lights and wine, which for young people really need extraordinary self-control, for young painters more beneficial. The reason why he can become a rising star in the study of green antique landscapes is precisely because of his years of diligent study and unremitting perseverance, which has been exchanged for the vitality of "pen like a sword, mountains and branches", and also let the landscape paintings he created be light and energetic and intriguing.
Wang Yongxu was born in an artistic environment with a more diversified artistic expression, and the new era urgently requires artists to adhere to the canon and bottom line of Chinese painting, and take the initiative to invest in new care and exploration of the brush and ink language and expression attributes of Chinese painting. I once had a four-foot paper scroll of Mr. Yongxu's "Spring Water Absolute Peak Map", which can be called a masterpiece. Overlooking the Yanlan Yunling Mountains in the distance, the virtual reality is ethereal, vaguely like Dai; the middle scene can see the twists and turns of the mountain road, the strange rocks are saga, and the pines and cypresses are straight; the close-up view is more lush with grass and trees, the pavilions are quiet, and the flowing water is babbling. There seems to be a continuous sound of turquoise, and there is also a cool and pleasant atmosphere, as if you can hear the sound of the bell and the drum. The painting reads: "On the peak of the spring water, ride the wind to fly the jade dragon." The red sun is really good, and the green pines are in the sky. Pavilions and pavilions wind and wind, small bridges and flowing water breeze. Whoever puts the cloud pavilion. The bard is drunk and crazy. Pick up the steps to listen to the birds, and the spring trees are hidden and red. Leaning on the distance, the smoke and rain of the lofty mountains are endless. Ge Hong of the Jin Dynasty said in his Baopuzi Xunben that "if you want to make it high, you will enrich its foundation; if you want to flourish at the end, you will deepen its roots." A person who dreams of becoming more and more powerful can only accumulate a magnificent force on the way forward to finally bloom a dazzling miracle. As a vigorous Wang Yongxu, whether in real life or in the artistic journey, in addition to being prosperous and full of spirit, of course, it is inevitable to twist and turn, lonely and tormented, but these are not the selfless gifts of real life to everyone who is about to succeed. "Every life is thought, and in one thought, heaven or hell." What people read will get, and those who remember will have an echo. I hope that the mindful Yongxu will go steady and far on his chosen art path.
"I wanted to be a painter, but I became Picasso!" I am very willing to borrow this famous quote from Mr. Picasso to encourage Yongxu. For this young painter who is honest, energetic, and highly malleable, my humble essay is both a recognition and praise, a kind reminder, and a sincere inspiration, because he still has a long way to go.
