Henrik Ibsen was born on 20 March 1828. Ibsen was a famous Norwegian dramatist and the founder of modern European theatre. His work emphasizes the happiness of the individual in life, ignoring the trites of traditional society. Representative plays include "Pell Ginter", "Doll's House", "Ghost", "Enemy of the People", "Haida Gaboul", "Wild Duck", "When We Die and Wake Up" and so on.

Ibsen was born in a timber merchant family, the early years of the family is well-off, and then his father's business encountered changes, so that Ibsen felt that the human feelings are weak, the world is cold. At the age of 16, Ibsen was forced to make a living as a pharmacy buddy, and in the busy spare time of work, Ibsen did not give up the opportunity to study, read a lot of books, and then wrote poetry by himself, and gradually became more and more interested in literary creation. He was active in writing for a number of publications and also participated in the workers' movement.

As a result, his early works often reflect his spirit of defiance through images. In 1851, Ibsen was recommended to enter the Bergen Theatre as a screenwriter and stage director, officially starting his career as a professional dramatist. Later, Ibsen served as the manager of the Norwegian Theater, but within a few years the theater went bankrupt, and Ibsen's life also faced great difficulties, and he left his homeland for Italy and Germany for 27 years. In 1879, Ibsen created the famous play "Doll's House", which not only had a profound impact on European and American drama in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but also greatly promoted the development of the European feminist movement.

In 1891, Ibsen returned to his native Norway. Ibsen suffered a stroke in 1900 and died on 23 May 1906 after a long period of illness.
