People's Daily Tokyo, January 14 (People's Daily News) According to a report by the Central Japan Broadcasting Television Station, since the evening of the 13th, the world cultural heritage "Aiki-za Village" located in Shirakawa Township, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan, has launched a lighting campaign.

As a project that attracts tourists to visit in winter, the Shirakawa-go illumination activity began as early as 34 years ago. On the first day of this year's illuminations, it rained and the thatched houses took on a psychedelic hue in the soft light.

In previous years, when the lights up campaign was launched, it usually welcomed more than 80 centimeters of snow, but this year there is no snow because of the warm winter. According to the local tourism association, it is rare to have no snow during the lighting period.

The Shirakawa-go Illumination Event will run until February 16, when it is lit once a week on Sundays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. local time. (Editor: Liu Ge Reviewer: Chen Jianjun)
