Tong Linge (1892-1937), Manchu, formerly known as Tong Lingge, zi jiesan, a native of Gaoyang County, Hebei Province. In 1912, he joined Feng Yuxiang's army. In 1925, he was appointed commander of the First Division of the Nationalist Army. In September 1926, after Wuyuan took the oath of division, he participated in the Northern Expedition. From 1928, he was the commander of the 35th Army of the 2nd Army of the National Revolutionary Army. In 1931, he was appointed commander of the Teaching Regiment of the 29th Army of the National Revolutionary Army and commander of the Zhangjiakou Garrison. In 1933, he led his troops to participate in the Great Wall War of Resistance and won the Great Victory at Xifengkou. In May of the same year, he joined the Chahar Anti-Japanese Allied Army, served as the commander of the First Army and the acting chairman of Chahar Province, recovered Kangbao, Guyuan, Duolun and other counties, and severely damaged the Japanese army. In 1936, he was appointed deputy commander of the 29th Army of the National Revolutionary Army, stationed in the Pingjin area. After the outbreak of the July 7 Incident, he served as the commander of the Beiping Nanyuan garrison and issued an order to the officers and men of the whole army: All Japanese troops who attack, resolutely resist, and vow to coexist and die with the Lugou Bridge. On July 28, 1937, when he personally commanded the battle at the Dahong Gate of Nanyuan, he was unfortunately wounded in the leg and still insisted on commanding the battle. During the bombing of enemy aircraft, he was seriously wounded in the head and martyred at the age of 45, and was later promoted to general of the army. In 2009, he was named one of the 100 heroes and model figures who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China. In September 2014, it was included in the first list of 300 famous anti-Japanese heroes and heroes.
