Hazelnut Township, Xingshan County, is the geographical arctic of Yichang City. The mountains here are stacked, with an average altitude of 1300 meters, but there is a small plain that stretches for more than 20 kilometers on the top of the mountain.

From the G42 Hu Rong Expressway Gaolan ramp under the expressway, through the 347 National Highway to the 252 Provincial Highway all the way to the north, along the way are lofty mountains, canyons and deep streams, the mountain road has been climbing upwards, about 1 hour by car, arrived at the Hazelnut Township Market, the altitude display on the mobile phone software is 1260 meters.
Zhang Zhongjing, a member of the Hazelnut Township Propaganda Committee, told jimu reporters that the 252 provincial highway runs through the entire territory of hazelnut township, and more than 10 kilometers north from the market town, is Baokang County in Xiangyang. Zhang Zhongjing proposed that since he had come to visit the "Yichang Arctic", he should go directly to the boundary monuments of Xingshan and Baokang.
The northernmost village in Hazelnut Township is called Banmiao Village, and the name of the village itself has some origins. During the Qing Dynasty, it was the passageway for Sichuan salt into Hubei. In the old days, salt merchants were very risky, and legend has it that a salt merchant encountered difficulties and was hindered by passing through the Banmiao Temple, and once made a wish that if he was blessed by the bodhisattva to get out of trouble, he would come to build a temple and make a wish.
Unexpectedly, the salt merchant did not make any money on this trip after he got out of trouble, but he did not dare to neglect the bodhisattva, still fulfilled his promise, and built a simple temple in the local area with wooden planks. After the completion of the temple, more and more salt merchants like to come here to burn incense and make wishes, and there are also salt dealers who make money to donate funds to expand the simple plate temple. Because of the increasing incense, it once became a lively Banmiao Street and a transit place for past vendors. It is precisely because of the origin of the words of the Banmiao temple that the merchants and mountain people here advocate the wind of integrity.
From the legend of the Banmiao Temple, it can be imagined that even in the remote places of the deep mountains, there has been a prosperous past.
Alpine plains create Arctic destinations
Next to the boundary monument between Xingshan and Baokang, there is a Kamikaze Cave Farm. The boss Gao Shijun is a Xingshan person, and the boss lady Zheng Huifang is a Baokang person.
The so-called farmstead is actually just a two-story brick house with a large bucket-thick hole at the bottom of the hillside next to the house. Gao Shijun said that this cave blows a cool breeze in the summer and a warm wind in the winter, which is very magical. He doesn't use a refrigerator at home in the summer, and puts the dishes at the entrance of the cave, which is more fresh than the refrigerator. Because of this magical cave, they gave their farm the name "Kamikaze Cave". Zheng Huifang enthusiastically introduced that her family's farm can accommodate more than 10 people for a summer vacation. This summer, the income of the farm alone exceeded 20,000 yuan.
On the way back to the hazelnut township market from the boundary monument, Zhang Zhongjing said that just a few years ago, the owner of the "Kamikaze Cave" farm was a poor household in the village. Asked about the process of poverty alleviation, Zhang Zhongjing pointed to the wilderness outside the car window. Above the high mountains at an altitude of more than 1300 meters, the roads are flat, the terrain is open, the sky is high and cloudy, and it is quite magnificent of the northwest plateau; and the distant mountains are full of daisy, flowers, crops, and the wealth of Jiangnan water towns.
Driving on this alpine field, the air rich in negative oxygen ions is refreshing, and the Japanese wind on the plateau is blowing. Zhang Zhongjing described that the average annual temperature here is 10.4 °C, the forest coverage rate is 92%, and the scenery changes throughout the year, which is an ideal place for tourism and leisure that integrates summer vacation, health care, recreation and sojourn
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of the rural revitalization strategy, hazelnut township has been included in the county's rural revitalization pilot area and included in the provincial key project database. This alpine plain is no longer a remote mountain village that is inaccessible, but a tourist destination for the surrounding urban population.
"Zhaojun Wilderness" gradually became a paradise
More than 2,000 years ago, Zhaojunyuan married into the desert grassland, and a woman who grew up in the beautiful waters of the Lingshan Mountains went to Saiwai, so that the Xingshan Mountains and the wilderness intersected.
Today, after 2000, the hazelnut township of this alpine small plain in the "Yichang Arctic" has been labeled as "Zhaojun Wilderness", which has to be said to be a romantic coincidence.
This past summer, in the high mountain plain of Hazelnut Township, there is a hotel with a room rate of more than 1,000 yuan per night, but it is full every room, and it is difficult to find a room, which is "Zhaojun Wilderness".
It is understood that this is a project that integrates multiple functions such as a tourist reception center, a summer resort hotel, a cultural performance square, a conference and exhibition, and an activity center for elderly children. The main building will be Zhaojun out of the plug when the plucking strings, the scene of geese falling into the architectural shape, the roof shape is like the wings of the falling goose, so that the three main buildings are both independent of each other, but also dependent on each other, showing the trend of the wild geese lying on the waves, spreading their wings and flying.
Cedar forests, meadows, lakes, autumn into the "Zhaojun Wilderness", as if in a Nordic town, the kind of tranquility, indifference within reach. Not to mention leisure venues such as the sea of flowers under the forest, grass ski slopes, horse farms, caravan camps, tennis courts, starry sky camps, etc., it is no wonder that many people lament this wilderness: "It is appropriately tall, deeply green, cool and comfortable"
Jimu reporter saw in the exhibition hall of the project department that "Zhaojun Wilderness" launched more than 1600 sets of health care real estate, which has now sold more than half, and many urban people are eager for this paradise.
Nowadays, when people talk about the "Zhaojun Wilderness", it is no longer just this commercial project, but the unique alpine plain of Hazelnut Township.
