Original author: Zhang Wenfa

Wang Yanan (1901-1969 AD), male, from Wangjiafang Village, Huanggang County, Hubei Province (now Tuanfeng County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province). Famous modern economist.

Wang Yanan's parents died early, and with the support of his brother, he completed primary school in Huangzhou, and after graduation, he was admitted to Wuchang First Middle School and then into the Department of Education of Wuchang Zhonghua University (the predecessor of Central China Normal University).

During the Great Revolution, he joined the Northern Expeditionary Army in Changsha and served as a political instructor in the army.

After the defeat of the Great Revolution, he went east from Wuchang to Shanghai and then to Hangzhou, where his life and career took a major turn.

In addition to raising monks and mountains, Chinese temples also sheltered many poor readers.

During his stay in Hangzhou, Wang Yanan was forced to live in the Great Buddha Temple, where he met his important partner in his career, Guo Dali, who also lived in the Great Buddha Temple after graduating from the Philosophy Department of Shanghai Daxia University.

The two young men were like-minded, and at first sight, they talked about their ideals in life and soon became close friends.

During this period, Wang Yanan began to study Marxist political economy and look for ways to save the country by changing society.

Guo Dali saw that he had developed a strong interest in economics, so he suggested that the two of them work together on the translation of Capital.

Since then, he and Guo Dali, a friend, have begun nearly forty years of friendship and career cooperation.

Capital has also become a classic for Wang Yanan's lifelong study and research.

In 1928, Wang Yanan went to Japan to study and read a large number of Marx's works and European classical economics, and after the "918 Incident", he returned to China indignantly and engaged in progressive cultural activities in Shanghai as a profession of translation and teaching.

In the past two years, he has successively translated Adam Smith's famous works "The Wealth of Nations", Malthus's "Population Theory", John Mill's "Principles of Economics" and other economic works, and his own works "History of Economics" and "Introduction to World Political Economy" have also been published, and in the academic community, Wang Yanan began to emerge.

In 1933, Wang Yanan was wanted for his involvement in the "Fujian Incident" and fled to Europe.

In Germany, Marx's hometown, in Britain, the birthplace of Capital, he collected extensive Western economic materials, paid attention to the development trend of Western economics, and translated some Western economic works.

In 1935, he returned to Shanghai, met guo dali again, talked about his European travels, and the two began to formally translate Capital.

At this time, the person in charge of the Reading Life Publishing House, which was closely related to the CCP, approached Wang Yanan and explained to him the urgency of translating "Capital", hoping to translate it as soon as possible, print it as soon as possible, and pay some expenses in advance.

In 1938, under the extremely difficult circumstances of economic life, in the dry land of China, which was in urgent need of Marxist theory, Wang Yanan and Guo Dali's more than ten years of hard struggle finally came to fruition: the cornerstone of Marxism, the three-volume Chinese translation of Capital, was finally published!

At that time, this was not only a new thing in China's economic scientific research, but also blew a fresh wind to China at that time, but also a major event in the spread of Marxism in China, which had an important impact on China's communist movement.

Wang Yanan has been engaged in the study of Marxist political economy all his life, and from the five volumes of the "Collected Works of Wang Yanan", we can see the path traveled by an outstanding economist and educator, he is an economist with rich translations, and his outstanding contributions in the field of economics are mainly in four aspects:

Wang Yanan and Guo Dali used 10 years of painstaking efforts to overcome many difficulties and published the complete translation of the three volumes of Marx's great work "Capital" in 1938, which was a milestone in the systematic dissemination of Marx's economic theory in China.

Capital is recognized as a vast and profound work, but before that there was no complete translation in our country.

To accurately translate into Chinese, it is necessary not only to have superb Chinese expression ability, but also to have profound and solid theoretical cultivation and profound accumulation of knowledge.

Wang Yanan and Guo Dali vigorously followed the plan they formulated, and first spent 8 years translating 6 masterpieces of economics and economic history before Marx, including Adam Smith's "The Wealth of Nations" and Ricardo's "Political Economy and Principles of Taxation", opening the way for a full translation of Capital.

Under the white terror of the Kuomintang's "cultural encirclement and suppression" at that time, Guo and Wang were fearless, bravely marched forward, and after enduring hardships, they finally successfully completed the full translation work, which was their contribution to the cause of the proletarian revolution and to the Chinese people, and their outstanding achievements will last forever.

Wang Yanan is one of the pioneers of Marxist economic historiography in China.

Since the 1930s, he has started from China's economic history and explored the socio-economic problems of old China, and achieved fruitful results.

He boldly innovated, made a unique difference, and put forward the famous "landlord economy theory" in a complete and systematic way.

He believes that China's feudal system is divided into two major stages, the lord economy and the landlord economy, and the landlord economic form and the semi-feudal mode of production as a whole, from the economic structure, political system and cultural thought, etc., to carry out a comprehensive and systematic, macro and micro combination of research to explain the long-term debate in China's social and economic history of the "stagnant development" problem, known as "a summary of the discussion since the 1930s".

This was an outstanding scientific research achievement in the field of Chinese economic history before 1949, and its theoretical contribution to moving pictures has far-reaching significance and has attracted the attention of international historians.

When Wang Yanan was a child, he had great ambitions and loved to read.

When he was in middle school, in order to buy more time to study, he deliberately sawed one foot of the wooden bed he slept on half a foot shorter into a three-legged bed.

Every day reading until late at night, when tired, go to bed to sleep, after a confused turn, the bed tilted in the direction of the short foot, he was suddenly awakened, he immediately got out of bed, and read at night.

Every day, without interruption.

As a result, he achieved excellent results every year and was known as one of the three masters in the class.

Because of his diligent and diligent study as a teenager, he finally became an outstanding economist in our country.

In 1933, Wang Yanan took a boat to Europe.

The passenger ship traveled to the Red Sea, and suddenly the waves were so fierce that the ship shook so much that it was impossible to stand.

At this time, Wang Yanan, wearing glasses, walked into the restaurant with a book in his hand and pleaded with the waiter: "Please tie me to this pillar!"

The waiter thought that he was afraid that he would be thrown into the sea by the waves, so he did as he said, and tied Wang Yanan firmly to the pillar.

After tying up, Wang Yanan opened the book and read it intently.

When the foreigners on the ship saw it, they all threw amazed glances at him and exclaimed, "Ah! Chinese, it's amazing!"

Now, many parents are constantly planning for their children's future for the sake of their children's future, and trying to find a school district house.

However, they don't know that they have become obsessed and have forgotten their way, and at this time, what is more needed is to calm down.

In fact, ordinary rooms are not as good as school district rooms, school district rooms are not as good as quiet rooms, quiet rooms are not as good as parents' role models, and parents' role models are not as interested as children.

Don't keep thinking about throwing your child into that learning den.

There are many ways to succeed, and the biggest and best way is to cultivate or find your child's interests.

Interest is the biggest life choice.

The child has no interest, give him (her) big school district room, life is also a pool of stagnant water.

Invest in a school district house without a soul, it is better to invest in cultivating and excavating children's interests, find gas stations for children's interests, and continue to refuel, so that children can grow into towering trees.
