"Eat dry and squeeze out"! With a "full range of outputs" of one grain of rice, the company uses "exclusive tips" to help the circular economy

A bale of crops in a field can sometimes lead to "new recipes."

In the case of Chinese-ripe rice, in addition to producing rice, rice husks can be used to burn to generate electricity, and silica extracted from rice husk ash can be used as raw materials for the production of green tires. Wilmar International Group of Singapore uses this "exclusive secret" to fuel the circular economy.

In fact, rice harvested from farmland is not only rice. Rice bran extracted from rice can be used as a pressed oil by technical processing to produce rice oil rich in nutrients such as oryzanol and phytosterols. The extracted rice flour can be made into chocolate, biscuits, dietary fiber and so on. There is also rice bran meal, which is collected by enterprises for feed feeding.

Rice can not only be used for "food", but also bring benefits to society and help green recycling. Wilmar International uses conventional rice processing waste rice husks to burn to generate electricity, making the plant's thermoelectric supply fully "self-sufficient". According to statistics, one ton of rice husks is equivalent to 0.75 tons of raw coal, but the combustion of rice husk raw materials does not produce sulfur dioxide, which means that "substitute" rice husks are a more natural and healthy raw material for combustion. While promoting this concept, Wilmar International has proposed a vision that if 200 million tonnes of rice husks produced by China's rice per year were used for combustion to generate electricity, it could replace 18 million tonnes of standard coal per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50 million tonnes. "Under our exploration, rice can have 48 kinds of 'output' for all corners of life and industry." Wang Hongwei, Deputy Director of Public Affairs of Yihai Kerry Arowana, introduced.

Under the planning of promoting the circular economy, Wilmar International Group has launched rice, wheat, soybeans, corn, oil and fat by-products, etc., and also helped new industrial models such as green processing, so that all kinds of crops in the farmland can be "put to good use". For example, soybeans, the company has opened up about 300 kinds of soybean deep processing products, from all angles of the full development and utilization of soybeans.

Compared with other century-old grain merchants, Wilmar International Group was born in 1991 and is a complete "newcomer". Enterprises enter the Chinese market, actively adopt new ideas, and master the laws of current development. In the exhibition area of Wilmar International Group, you can see hundreds of products from cooking oil, rice, flour, condiments to daily chemicals to meet consumers' needs for a better life.

At this year's Expo, Wilmar International Group also brought the concept of "central kitchen". In recent years, through the expansion of the central kitchen production line, products covering student meals, nutritious meals and functional foods have been launched. At the same time, it is also building a central kitchen park in the national layout to create a Chinese food industrialization ecological chain platform with grain staple food as the core.
