After washing, take the shuttle bus on time at 6:30 and arrive at Leishenshan Hospital at 7 o'clock. The reason why we came so early was because we had to take meals from patients in the ward and send them to the ward. There are also diabetics and Hui patients in the ward, and they have to go separately to pick them up.
The average age of the patients in our ward is 64 years old, all of them are locals, because most of them speak dialects and wear masks, and we wear protective clothing, it is particularly difficult to communicate in the first few days, sometimes we need other patients in the same room to help translate, or use gestures, handwriting boards, even masks to guess, more than 30 patients, it takes four or five hours to check the room. In the past two days, there has gradually been a tacit understanding, the patient's situation is also more understood, and the communication is much smoother. Seeing that some patients are depressed, they talk to him more about homely meals, talk about Wuhan snacks, introduce our northeast characteristics, and sometimes learn two Sentences of Wuhan dialect with them to let them relax. Since patients are not accompanied by family members, some patients with limited mobility are responsible for sending food and water to our doctors and nurses. Some patients have bad teeth and sometimes feel that the food sent is hard, so we send them the milk powder sent to us by the hospital.
Here in isolation from our families, when we are physically and mentally vulnerable, it feels like they really regard us as dependent, and the most we hear during each round is "thank you", and the most we see is the thumbs up. This need and affirmation makes us feel warm and intimate, and also allows us to absorb the infinite strength to continue to move forward. Even if we are away from our children who are a few months old, even if we sweat every day, even if we don't know when the return date is, we still have no regrets.
Every day, WeChat receives greetings from leaders, colleagues and family members, which is very warm. Today, I was particularly touched by the text message received from an old patient: "Dr. Ogawa, I learned that you are also among them in this rush to Wuhan, you are the pride of Liaoyang people, please be sure to protect yourself and return safely." Come on! The signature is "Your Liaoyang Patient.". Usually have to receive more than 60 patients every day, who he is, what name, when he came to see the patient, I really can't remember, but the moment I saw the text message, I really felt inexplicable motivation, it turned out that our efforts have also won a lot of silent recognition. Whether it's praising us as heroes, retrogrades, or a little bit of doubt, it doesn't matter, all we can do is "a little hot, a little light", and that's it.
