I believe that many friends have seen or heard a movie starring Huang Qiusheng "Eight Immortals Hotel Human Flesh Char Siu Bun", although this is a film with obvious restrictions, but Huang Qiusheng won the Best Actor of the Hong Kong Film Awards for this film, which may be enough to prove that the quality of this film is still very high.
Of course, on the one hand, the high quality is the high technical level of the main creative team, and on the other hand, the prototype event of this film itself reveals full of weirdness and horror. Not only the family of the former owner of the restaurant mysteriously disappeared, but there was even a rumor that after the boss disappeared, the char siu bun sold in his shop began to become human flesh, which sounded really terrifying.
And our protagonist today is the suspect who killed ten people in a row and committed this terrorist case, Huang Zhiheng.
Careful friends may have noticed that we just used the word "suspect" when describing Huang Zhiheng. Usually, only those suspected of guilt, but the court has not yet pronounced a verdict, are referred to as suspects. And Huang Zhiheng's murder case occurred in 1985, has he not yet been convicted and gone unpunished?
Obviously, this is not possible. The reason he is still called a suspect is that before the trial starts, he committed suicide in prison with a can pull ring.
Before committing suicide, he even wrote a confession to prove his innocence.
So, who is this Huang Zhiheng, and why is he suspected of committing such a heinous crime?
The story begins in August 1985.
The incident took place near Black Sand Beach in Coloane, Macau. Some tourists have found something similar to human remains in the sea. Macau is not very big, so the police quickly arrived at the scene, and after an on-site inspection, they found that the tourists found that it was indeed the wreckage belonging to the human body.
And in the next five days, still on the same beach, there were wreckage found one after another, a total of 11 pieces, after the police identification, these limbs may belong to four or more different people.
The police have also wondered if any tourists were killed in the shark's mouth.
But the incisions in these wreckage are very neat, not like sharks, more like being killed and then throwing away the body. To this end, the Macao police also specially sought help from the trace identification experts of the mainland police.
However, although experts from both sides of the strait have joined forces to solve the case, the mere fact that some of the wreckage that has been soaking in the sea for several days and has been highly decayed cannot even be determined – to put it more seriously, even whether these people are still alive needs to be marked with a question mark.
This case can only be shelved until no new clues emerge.
New clues will not appear until eight months after the wreckage is found.
In April 1986, the police received a letter signed as the brother of Zheng Lin, the owner of the Eight Immortals Hotel. In the letter, mr. Zheng said that his brother Zheng Lin, sister-in-law Cen Huiyi, and a total of ten members of their family had completely lost contact after August 1985.
After seeing the remains found earlier, he increasingly felt that his brother's family might have been killed, and pleaded with the police to investigate from this perspective.
In addition, he also provided the police with a very important clue - after Zheng Lin's disappearance, his Eight Immortals Hotel was taken in by a man named Huang Zhiheng.
Until then, the police had been looking for clues throughout Macau, which was tantamount to finding a needle in a haystack. This time, with Mr. Zheng's letter, it can finally be regarded as targeted.
Police quickly re-examined the previously found wreckage.
The results are naturally gratifying, they found a fingerprint that is not very clear, this fingerprint is exactly the same as the fingerprint of Cen Huiyi's aunt Chen Lizhen, who was reported missing by Mr. Zheng!
Although no other clues have been found, the police have basically determined that the wreckage came from the missing Zheng Lin family.
However, for the sake of safety, the police did not arrest Huang Zhiheng, who was very suspicious at the first time, but secretly monitored Huang Zhiheng while conducting other investigations.
A vendor who supplied the Eight Immortals Hotel said that on August 4, 1985, the Eight Immortals Hotel had already announced that it was closed, but when he went to visit Zheng Lin's house, it was a strange middle-aged man who opened the door and said that the Zheng Lin family had left.
After grasping this clue, the police felt that Huang Zhiheng's suspicions had increased.
On September 28, 1986, when police officers monitoring Wong chi heng found him seeming to be leaving Macau with his family, the police immediately took action and arrested Wong.
It was only then that the police discovered that all of Zheng Lin's family's properties, including restaurants and houses, had been taken over by Huang Zhiheng.
In this regard, Huang Zhiheng's explanation is that Zheng Lin and Cen Huiyi were good friends before and often gambled together. But the couple had bad luck and bad technology, often lost money, and over time owed him more than 600,000 yuan in gambling debts. Later, they could not repay it, so they could only mortgage all their property in Macau to Huang Zhiheng, and then took the family elsewhere. He didn't know anything about the situation after that.
From the appearance, Huang Zhiheng does not look very much like a murderous murderer. But obviously, this metaphysical method cannot be relied upon to handle cases.
Whether it is to convict Huang Zhiheng or exonerate him, evidence is needed to prove whether he is guilty or not.
The evidence now available to the police does not prove his guilt. From a very strict point of view, the police cannot even prove that the Zheng Lin family has been killed.
This is undoubtedly very beneficial to Huang Zhiheng, if he insists that he is not guilty, then according to the trial method in Macao at that time, it is really possible to get exonerated.
But miraculously, after being interrogated by the police, Huang Zhiheng actually chose to commit suicide on October 4, 1986. This time his suicide was unsuccessful and he was eventually rescued by doctors.
And he doesn't seem to have given up on suicide. On December 4 of that year, he cut his wrist with a very sharpened can pull ring. This time he successfully bid farewell to the world.
But at this time, the ins and outs of the whole case had not yet been clearly investigated, and whether Huang Zhiheng was guilty or not guilty, along with his suicide, it became a dead and untested.
Even more puzzling is the fact that before committing suicide, he had sent a confession to the newspaper. In his confession, he wrote that he still did not admit his guilt after being interrogated by the police continuously, and that although he had indeed committed some illegal acts in Hong Kong before, he had changed his past mistakes at this time and decided to live a peaceful life with his wife and children and enjoy his old age in peace.
At the same time, he also said that although he committed suicide, he still could not trust his wife and son, and wanted the reporters to help him get rid of his crime and take good care of his wife.
From our point of view of such a letter of credit today, there is some pretentious elements in it, and if it is more difficult to say, it is a deliberate sale.
However, in the social environment at that time, it could still resonate with many people.
But just as the confession book began to spread, Huang Zhiheng's former inmates told everyone a more explosive news: as early as October, Huang Zhiheng once told him the whole story in a private conversation.
The inmates said that these people were indeed killed by Huang Zhiheng, and the cause was, as everyone speculated, because of gambling debts.
Zheng Lin and Shum Huiyi do often gamble with Huang Zhiheng, and their skills and luck are indeed not good.
Once, Huang Zhiheng only used 2,000 yuan of capital to win more than 100,000 yuan.
Because they were all friends who played together, Huang Zhiheng did not ask them to pay off their debts as soon as possible. But this day and day has been dragging on, and does not give interest, this Huang Zhiheng is somewhat unacceptable.
Fortunately, Zheng Lin had already said that he would transfer his Eight Immortals Hotel to Huang Zhiheng to pay off his debts.
However, Huang Zhiheng went to Zheng Lin several times to ask for delivery, and Zheng Lin refused for various reasons. When Huang Zhiheng went again, Zheng Lin even said that there was no IOU for the money borrowed before, so it was not repaid.
This made Huang Zhiheng's mentality completely unbalanced, he grabbed the wine bottle in his hand, smashed it against the table, and also kidnapped Zheng Lin's young son, put a sharp glass ballast against his neck, and threatened the Zheng Lin family.
At first, in order to protect the safety of their son, everyone did not dare to act rashly, and could only bind each other according to Zheng Lin's will. But unexpectedly, Cen Huiyi was still afraid that Zheng Lin would hurt her son, and rushed forward to fight with Huang Zhiheng. Unexpectedly, Huang Zhiheng threw the beer bottle out, which just hit Cen Huiyi's neck, and Cen Huiyi lost consciousness on the spot.
Seeing that he had killed someone, Huang Zhiheng chose not to do anything and kill all of Zheng Lin's family, and then threw away the body. After doing some of these tasks, he even took over the Eight Immortals Hotel and Other Industries of Zheng Lin like no one else, and lived peacefully for a year.
The inmate's statement was very detailed and did not conflict with the evidence now available to the police.
But on the one hand, this was only said after Huang Zhiheng committed suicide, which can basically be regarded as dead and untested.
On the other hand, this confession also runs counter to Huang Zhiheng's confession. The police had no reason to believe any of them.
This case has become a headless case. Although the police later found the bones of the Zheng Lin family, the only suspect has passed away.
However, although the case has not been resolved to this day, it does not affect the masses to talk about it. Although after the police discovered the bones of the Zheng Lin family, the rumors of human flesh char siu buns were not broken, but the literary and art workers still used this as a prototype to create many popular novels, comics, movies, and TV series.
