The Paper's reporter Chen Yaru

The 34-year-old Bayu opens a steamed bun stall in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, and unlike other stalls, his steamed bun stall is unguarded, and customers scan the QR code to pay after purchasing, or put the money in the change basket.

On October 27, Bayu told The Paper that his unguarded steamed bun stall opened in 2016 at the Yedian Village Comprehensive Market in Bailongqiao Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua, and that little money had rarely happened in the past four years.

"When it first opened, there was occasionally less money, and with the improvement of market management and the people around us getting more and more acquainted, everyone was very conscious, and now there will be basically no less money." Bayu told The Paper that he usually only appears at the stall when he is replenishing.

Ba Yu is a native of Fuyang, Anhui Province, and came to Jinhua to work ten years ago. I worked as a chef in a restaurant and also sold breakfast and vegetables. Later, he found that most of the workers near the Yedian Market came from the north and liked to eat steamed buns, the source of customers was stable, the cost was not high, so he and his wife rented a stall in the Yedian Market and a nearby storefront to make steamed buns.

After opening, Bayu's steamed buns sold well, and in addition to selling to individual customers, they also had to supply nearby construction sites, supermarkets and some fresh and delicatessen shops every day.

"It's just me and my wife, there are not enough people, and it takes at least 100 yuan a day to hire an additional person." Bayu said that at the beginning, he wanted to save costs, so he set up stalls in the market as unsold. "Steamed buns are not valuable things, and I can't hang on to my face for stealing things for a few dollars."

The facts also confirm Ba Yu's idea, which has been open for more than 4 years, and it is rare to buy steamed buns without paying. "After all, there are still many good people, even if the stalls are not watched, I am not worried." Bayu told The Paper, he came out to work as a teenager and was taken care of by many people along the way, often with a grateful heart.

During the epidemic, Bayu lowered the price of steamed buns. "Last year, because of the rise in prices and the increase in the price of raw materials, steamed buns were sold for 5 yuan and 7 pieces. When the epidemic was serious this year, everyone's business was not good, and the nearby workers asked me to send a few more steamed buns to them, then I wanted to send you, and I had to send others, so I lowered the price, 5 yuan 8. ”

Bayu told the surging news that his steamed buns have a gross profit of about 2 cents per day, and the average number of unmanned stalls can sell 600 per day, plus additional sales channels, in addition to costs, can earn more than 100,000 yuan per year, of which unmanned stalls can earn 40,000 yuan per year.

Bayu gets up at 2:30 a.m. every day and stays busy until about 9 p.m. When asked whether he wanted to make the steamed bun shop bigger, Bayu told the surging news: "At present, I don't think too much, I may hire a few people, and my wife's health is a bit overwhelmed." Just continue to make steamed buns and live a down-to-earth life. ”
