In order to encourage architectural creation, the Creation Center of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (biad) conducted the selection of the 2019 biad excellent plan, and the new Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway Xiamen North Railway Station project stood out from 220 application schemes and won the first prize (21 first prizes, 30 second prizes, and 60 third prizes) with 20 other projects.
Xiamen North Railway Station has a construction area of 50,000 square meters, and the high-speed rail station is a window to display the city's style and a symbol that reflects the characteristics of the times and regions. The egret is the symbol of Xiamen. Wings of Heron Island, spread your wings and fly. The folk tales of Ludao convey people's love and longing for Xiamen, and the image symbolizes the openness, tolerance, modernity and fashion of Xiamen.
The design of Xiamen North Railway Station is based on the egret flying with its wings spread, reflecting the beautiful vision of harmonious coexistence between man and nature in Xiamen. The main façade of the station building is gentle, slightly raised in the upper part of the cornice, and the environment of the old station building and the front square coexists in harmony, showing the sense of the times and speed of the high-speed railway, expressing the simplicity and clarity of the traffic building, and reproducing the modernity of Xiamen's international tourist city.
In the tall and open waiting hall, the soft indoor ceiling lines fluctuate in line with the roof trend. The skylights formed between the layers of roofs enhance indoor lighting and ventilation, and the humanized details design together create a comfortable and unique waiting space experience.
The design of Xiamen North Railway Station fully integrates the local regional characteristics, and creates a unique landscape with modern and concise architectural language and unified atmospheric techniques.
Design Review
The architectural appearance of this scheme is simple, the meaning is clear, and it reflects the distinctive regional characteristics. The design fully reflects the characteristics of traffic architecture, the space is transparent and coherent, especially the comprehensive transfer traffic hall, as a densely populated area, the spatial orientation and visual direction are very strong, and it is not easy to get lost.
It should be noted that as a super-scale large-scale urban public building, its grand volume needs to echo the scale of the city square; the project is located in the south, the climate is hot, and the indoor shade design is needed; it is necessary to consider typhoon prevention measures and give key design in terms of structure, roof drainage, curtain wall nodes, etc.
