author:Three waters and three hearts

On May 24, News and Newspaper Digest produced and broadcast a special column of the Voice of China, "Striving for a Hundred Years, Embarking on a New Journey: A Number of Popular Figures", which introduced the deeds of Xian Xinghai, a great musician and member of the Communist Party of China in modern and modern Times, and Jiang Zhujun (generally known as "Sister Jiang"), an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China and a famous revolutionary martyr.

Jiangzhujun (yún) or Jiangzhujun (jūn)? Examining pronunciation helps us to understand the spirit

When Faced with the severe torture of the enemy, Sister Jiang said that "bamboo sticks are made of bamboo, and the will of Communists is steel", profoundly explained that "the Chinese Communists are made of special materials", which is the magic weapon for the victory of the revolution, using bamboo sticks as pens, using cotton ash to make ink, and the red suicide note written by the orphan in the slag cave is deeply moving, tear-inducing, and can also arouse our high spirit.

It can be said that the blood of the heroes and soldiers flowed for thousands of generations, and the heroic martyrs were hearted for thousands of years!

Jiangzhujun (yún) or Jiangzhujun (jūn)? Examining pronunciation helps us to understand the spirit

Sister Jiang's story is well known to everyone, and we will not dwell on too much recounting here, but simply from the pronunciation of Sister Jiang's name to appreciate the indomitable will of a communist and the great spirit of seeking the welfare of the people and sacrificing everything for the revolution.

In the program, the famous announcers Kang Hui and Guo Zhijian both read "Jiang Zhujun (jūn)". So, should Jiang Jie's name be pronounced Jiang Zhujun (yún) or Jiang Zhujun (jūn)?

As we all know, "筠" is a polysyllabic character with two pronunciations, "yún" and "jūn". For example, Wen Tingjun, a famous poet and lyricist (the originator of the Huajian Word School) in the late Tang Dynasty, studied as "yún". And pronounced "jūn", in fact, it is only in one place, that is, The County of Yunlian in Yibin, Sichuan. Casually, "six" is basically pronounced as "liu", but in Lu'an it should be pronounced as "lu", and the reason is the same.

Many commentators believe that it should be read as "Jiang Zhujun (江竹筠)" because Sister Jiang's nickname was Xueqin, and when she was 5 years old, her father gave her the scientific name "Jiang Zhujun", which never changed until she was arrested and imprisoned. The certificate of study issued to her by the Zhonghua Vocational School in 1940 and her subsequent enrollment registration form for the National Sichuan University are written as "Jiang Zhujun".

Jiangzhujun (yún) or Jiangzhujun (jūn)? Examining pronunciation helps us to understand the spirit

"Jiang Zhuyun" is actually a pseudonym temporarily taken after being arrested and imprisoned, so many people artificially use it as "Jiangzhuyun (jūn)" only changed the word, not the pronunciation.

In fact, as Sichuanese, we have a smooth mouth "Sichuan people rape (smart meaning), recognize words and recognize half of the side", so it is most likely that Jiang Jie herself will think that her name is "jūn".

But if we read it as "Jiang Zhuyun (yún)", it should be more standardized and more able to reflect the spiritual quality of Sister Jiang.

From a normative point of view, it is more legal to pronounce it "jūn". Authoritative reference books such as the Xinhua Dictionary and the Modern Chinese Dictionary are the most standardized Chinese character treasure books, and also the standard reference for whether they violate the Language and Writing Law. In these reference books, "筠(jūn)" is only used for the place name "筠連县", and the specific interpretation in the dictionary is: [jūn] 筠連, a place name, in Sichuan.

That is to say, except for this place name, everything else should be pronounced as "yún". This is the same as "lù", which is only pronounced (lù) in place names such as Liuhe in Jiangsu Province and Lu'an in Anhui Province, and "liù" elsewhere.

From a spiritual point of view, reading "yún" can better reflect the quality of Jiang Jie. Looking at the reference book, "yún" has two meanings: 1. Green skin of bamboo"; 2. Borrowed refers to bamboo. We know that in The Chinese cultural imagery, "bamboo" belongs to the youth tenacious, modest and knowledge-seeking, soft and rigid, high wind and bright festival, so there is the praise of "thousands of grinding blows and strength, Ren'er's east, west, south and north winds" (Zheng Banqiao's "Bamboo Stone").

As long as you have lived in the countryside, you probably know that the "reed" on the bamboo is the green skin, which is the key to whether the bamboo is strong and strong, scrape off this layer of green skin, this bamboo, except for burning firewood, basically has little use.

In other words, "yún" also has another meaning, that is, the meaning of "strong, unyielding". For example, the Book of Rites and Ritual Instruments "is also in people, such as bamboo arrows, such as pine cypresses." It means that "for man, the ceremony is like the appearance of a bamboo arrow, and it is like the solid inside of a pine." Wang Minyun In the Epitaph of Wu Shi, the wife of Qu Xueshi, there is a saying: "This Lin Yu, with light and thick night; bamboo reed pine tip, Huixin no shot." It means that "Lin Yu, which has been buried in the ground for a long time, warms people with the thickness of light at night; (inside the jade) it seems to have the tip of a bamboo leaf pine tree, but the core does not shoot out the outer layer of jade." ”

Combined with Sister Jiang's life experience before and after changing her name, we can find that she is actually using a name to express her indomitable chastity and infinite loyalty to the party under the severe torture of the enemy:

First, the lover was cut off to show the public, and Sister Jiang resolutely took over her husband's work. On the eve of the Spring Festival in 1948, Sister Jiang's husband Peng Yongwu (then a member of the Eastern Provisional Working Committee, deputy secretary of the Xiachuan Dongdi Working Committee, and political commissar of the guerrilla column) was unfortunately killed while organizing an armed uprising, and his head was cut off by the enemy and hung on the city gate for public display. But in this situation, Sister Jiang endured grief and resolutely took over her husband's work. She told the party organization: "The relationship between this line is only familiar to me, and it is difficult for others to replace it, and I should continue to fight where Old Peng fell." ”

Isn't this as unyielding as the "yún"?

The second was betrayed by traitors and arrested and imprisoned, and changed his name to Mingzhi. On June 14, 1948, due to the betrayal of traitors, Jiang Jie was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned in Chongqing Zha di Dong Prison. After being imprisoned, the name of Jiang Jiebao was "Jiang Zhuyun (yún)", which was to express a spirit and will to the enemy: I will be like the green skin of bamboo, and I will never submit to the reactionaries.

Sure enough, the Kuomintang military command agents used all kinds of torture: tiger stools, pepper water, slings, barbed steel whips, crowbars, electrocution, and even cruelly nailed bamboo sticks into her ten fingers, eager to open a gap in the young female Communist Party member, cracking the party organization that led the rebellion in eastern Sichuan and the underground party organization of the Chongqing Communist Party. But In the face of the inhumane torture and death threats of the enemy, Sister Jiang was always unyielding, "You can break my hand and kill my head. "Torture, that's too small a test. Bamboo sticks are made of bamboo, and the will of communists is steel! ”

What an indomitable woman like the green skin of bamboo!

What a revolutionary martyr who regards death like the green skin of bamboo!
