Du Huazhong is the leader of the Central Garden Community "Drummer" Volunteer Service Team. Over the past year and more, the "drummers" have used Hubei slow boards, fishing drums, three and a half sentences and other literary and artistic forms to create 36 programs, through activities such as "Weekly Lectures", "Theme Party Day", and "Community Spring Festival Grand Temple Fair", to publicize the party and state policies to benefit the people and tell about the affairs of the people around them.

The Central Garden Community currently has more than 8,600 residents, and more than 21% of the registered volunteers. Zhang Shujing, secretary of the party branch and director of the neighborhood committee of the Central Garden Community Volunteer Association, said that community governance is the end of social governance, and residents should be allowed to play a leading role on the stage of community governance. Community volunteers are nurtured from a strong neighborhood culture.

Things are done by people, and things are done by people. At present, the Central Garden Community New Era Civilization Practice Station has established a "woodpecker" that conforms to the people's hearts, a "fork in the road" that warms the hearts of the people, a "trumpeter" who gathers the hearts of the people, a "wide management" that knows the hearts of the people, and a "old naughty boy" who wins the hearts of the people, and participates in community governance around loving green and protecting greenery, neighborhood coordination, publicity and publicity, public security patrols, and entertainment and education.

Relying on the "Zhang Shujing Innovation Studio", the Community Civilization Practice Station organized a convenient show once a month, providing residents with free clinics, haircuts, umbrella repairs, key distribution, pipeline maintenance, smart phone application counseling and other services.

"Since the implementation of the 'double reduction' policy this year, our community has organized activities every Saturday to help children expand quality education. There is a 'Daddy Force' parent-child activity to experience carpentry, which is especially popular with residents. Zhang Shujing introduced that the community has held winter and summer vacation hosting classes for 16 consecutive years.

Everyone is vying to be a volunteer, blowing the wind of civilization everywhere. In recent years, the Central Garden Community has won more than 100 honors such as the first batch of "The Most Beautiful Volunteer Service Community in China" and the title of the Fifth "National Civilized Unit".

How to build a long-term mechanism for volunteer service? Wuhan Hanyang District adheres to the guidance of party building and builds a "three-level organizational structure" for the practice of civilization in the new era of district centers, street offices, and community stations. At the same time, Hanyang regularly holds volunteer service project competitions. By the end of September this year, a total of 55 volunteer service projects had been discovered, cultivated and promoted. In addition, Hanyang District has also explored the "public welfare bank" points exchange mechanism, using the model of "social worker + volunteer" to carry out pilots in Longyang Street and other communities, and continue to empower volunteer service with the system.

As of September 22 this year, the number of registered volunteers in Hanyang was 471,500, accounting for 53.39% of the permanent population, and 9,801 volunteer service projects were released, with a total project duration of 2151446 hours, ranking first among all urban areas in Wuhan.
