South American alpacas settled on the Tibetan Plateau

The reporter learned from the Qinghai Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park that recently, the park successfully introduced 4 alpacas, which is also the first time that alpacas as an "indigenous species" in South America have settled on the "high-cold" Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Alpacas are native to South America, the order Clolates, camels, shaped like sheep, there are about 3 million existing animals in the world, more than 90% live in Chile, Peru, Bolivia and other places, feeding on alpine spiny plants, with an average lifespan of about 20-25 years. In recent years, alpacas have been popular with cartoon merchants and many netizens because of their cute appearance.

According to Qi Xinzhang, deputy director of qinghai Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park, the alpacas introduced this time are three females and one male, the color is three white and one brown, and the age is 3 years old. In addition, the park has recently introduced two more red monkeys, following the successful introduction of three red monkeys from Africa in early 2014.
