Saber-toothed tigers are not a single species, they are a large family

Saber-toothed tiger refers to a variety of different species, mainly classified in the subfamily saber-toothed tiger, hyenaidae and cat-hunting family, and includes two families of marsupials, which lived in different periods of the Cenozoic era, and each evolved canine teeth like a sword.

Their upper canine teeth grow large, and even though the mouth is closed, their canine teeth are still clearly visible.

Saber-toothed tigers were generally thicker than today's cats, as if they were bears.

Saber-toothed tigers first appeared in the middle of the Eocene, and last disappeared thousands of years ago.
