Mr. Li Yining, | of The Preface Garden, said that his life was mainly two identities

author:Beijing Daily client

Mr. Li Yining is an "old Peking University" who is deeply respected by the masters and students of Peking University, and has been studying and working at Peking University for 70 years since 1951. In 2020, mr. Li's ninetieth birthday and the 65th anniversary of his teaching, more than 30 witnesses have detailed his quest to create China's economic and management education, advocate institutional reform and tell Chinese stories, and collected them into the book "Inclusive and Inclusive: Documentary on Li Yining's Social Practice".

This book can be said to be a "history", which not only records Mr. Li's struggle and practice of teaching and educating people and participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs, but also records the exploration process of China's economic and social development since the reform and opening up, especially the economic reform and enterprise development. This book is also a concentrated display of the feelings of Peking University people through the world and the country. The history of the establishment and development of Guanghua School of Management has condensed the vivid practice of Peking University in serving the country's economic reform and development.

Since the reform and opening up, Mr. Li and a number of other Peking University economists have contributed rich ideological resources to China's economic reform and development with a pure heart. Mr. Li has said many times that his life is mainly two identities, one is an economics researcher, the other is an economics teacher, both of which he loves. In the simple and unpretentious words, they reveal the sincerity of the people and scientific research causes. I think this is the spiritual charm of Peking University scholars.

Mr. Li Yining, | of The Preface Garden, said that his life was mainly two identities

"Inclusiveness and Eventual Broadness: Documentary on Li Yining's Social Practice", edited by the writing team of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, and published by the Commercial Press

Mr. Li has studied economics all his life, is a titan of economics, and is a representative of China's outstanding intellectuals. He is deeply concerned about China's economic problems, devotes himself to research and closely follows the development and changes of the real economy, not only contributes a large number of important reform ideas, but also experiences the frontline, directly participating in and promoting the process of a number of economic reforms.

In April 1986, at the academic forum held in the auditorium of the office building of Peking University, Mr. Li put forward the theory of shareholding system reform, which ignited the "lead" of ideology and theory for China's gradual promotion of socialist market economy reform. At that time, I was a graduate student in the law department of Peking University, and I had the privilege of being exposed to many of Mr. Li's ideological sparks. This was very helpful for me to work at the local level in the 1990s and to participate in some important economic reform and development undertakings.

In the process of reform and opening up, Mr. Li also presided over the drafting of the Securities Law and the Securities Investment Fund Law, participated in the promotion of the reform of the collective forest rights system and the agricultural reclamation system, and made important achievements in many fields such as the private economy, the "three rural areas" issue, low-carbon development, and the reform of state-owned enterprises. His economic ideas are not only a valuable asset for China, but also a valuable wealth for the people of the world to understand China and enhance the influence of Chinese economic theory.

"Helping the people through the ages" is Mr. Li's ideal. He is frank and frank, and has always advocated "basing himself on China and using scholarship to solve China's practical problems", saying many times that "no economist can be a prophet and a foresight, and must follow the practice" and "no matter how many articles are published, it is useless to not link China's actual reform in China." That's what he thinks, and he always does. At the 2018 conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the Party Central Committee and the State Council commended 100 "reform pioneers", and Mr. Li was praised as "an active advocate of economic system reform". This is the highest evaluation from the party and the state, and Mr. Li deserves it.

Mr. Li is also a highly respected teacher, who has been cultivating people for decades, and peach and plum are all over the world. He devoted all his efforts to the development of economic theory in our country and the development of education. When he was nearly ninety years old, he still insisted on sticking to the pulpit and insisting on giving classes to undergraduates, which was a model of standing up with virtue, learning with virtue, and teaching with virtue. His courses attract students from all departments of the university, and for decades, students who come to listen to classes have always crowded the classroom and become a scene of Peking University. Mr. Li has said many times that his greatest wish is that "students can be better than blue out of blue." He has trained many industry leaders, made outstanding contributions to promoting the country's economic development and social progress, and won academic honors and social praise for Peking University.

As the founding dean of Peking University Guanghua School of Management, Mr. Li has made irreplaceable contributions to the establishment of the school, to the cause of management, economics education and discipline construction of Peking University. In 1994, Peking University signed a cooperation agreement with Guanghua Education Foundation, and the School of Business Administration of Peking University was renamed guanghua School of Management of Peking University. In China in the early 1990s, the task of ideological emancipation was far from complete. Because the Guanghua Foundation is from Taiwan, this has brought a lot of ideological constraints and troubles to the renaming and establishment of Guanghua School of Management. Fortunately, the party committee and administrative staff of the school at that time worked together with Mr. Li to defy the public opinion, which led to the status of the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University in the economic and management academic circles today.

In 1955, on the eve of graduating from university, Mr. Li wrote a poem "Partridge Heaven" to encourage himself: "The stream is clear and the stone ditch is clear, and there are thousands of bends and turns." Inclusive and wide, Wakaya swims on its own. The heart is silent, the thoughts are rested, and the sand is unintentional but becomes a continent. A lifetime of study should be like this, only to cultivate and not to ask for the harvest. This is a true portrayal of Mr. Li's life, and his hard work and knowledge and virtue of "Mo Qing Reap" have been silently illuminating our way forward. On the occasion of his 90th birthday, I sincerely wish him health and longevity and evergreen academic life.
