The reopened Dongpo Theater invited "Grand Director" Lin Zhaohua to serve as the artistic director of the Dongpo Grand Theater and take the helm of the creation of the future theater. The Beijing News interviewed Lin Xiyue, the son of Lin Zhaohua, to talk about the origin of this cooperation and special planning for the future of the theater.
Lin Xiyue said that the Dongpo Theater has gone through three or four years from planning to the current official operation. Lin Zhaohua has always hoped that the works he directed can have a fixed performance place, and this matter will face many difficulties in implementing in Beijing, so he can cooperate with the Dongpo Theater, which can also be regarded as the long-cherished wish of the old master for many years.

The overall renovation and renovation of dongpo theater, including the concept of the theater, is responsible for Lin Zhaohua Drama Studio. Lin Xiyue hopes that the future development of the theater can form a modern, multi-element art perspective of the operating model. "As the operator of Dongpo Theatre, we are currently cooperating with China Performance Group. As a platform for very experienced international cultural exchanges, China Performance can also introduce some high-quality foreign plays for the theater in the future. We want to make the Dongpo Theater an international and urban art stage, integrating multi-element performance forms. ”
When talking about the overall direction of the future introduction of repertoire, Lin Xiyue believes, "Our main direction still hopes to have such a theater by the West Lake. At present, the main direction of planning is to focus on the quality of the repertoire. For future plays at the Dongpo Theatre, we need some other ideas. ”
As for whether the "Lin Zhaohua Drama Invitation Exhibition" that everyone is concerned about is expected to be held here, Lin Xiyue said that the "Lin Exhibition" has had the idea of holding here, but it is still in the stage of envisioning. "We will make some specific plans after the opening of "White Snake", including the performance planning in the spring, summer, autumn, winter and four seasons, at that time we may be more clear about what kind of theater the Dongpo Theater will be in the future, and what kind of repertoire and performance form we want to present to the audience."
