At the beginning of the New Year, Beijing Renyi's first new small theater work this year was also rehearsed publicly for the first time. This story of "My Poor Malatt", created by the famous Soviet playwright Albertov, has been a teaching drama of the Chinese Opera Performance Department for many years, and this time it is directed by Lin Cong, who has directed many sitcoms such as "I Love My Home", "Idle Horse Sister", "Family with Children" and so on. As the director of Beijing Renyi, this is also her first time to return to the theater to direct stage plays, and last year, her partner Yingda returned to the theater to direct "Raisins in the Sun" in her retirement year.

"My Poor Malatt", which will land on march 12 at the Renyi Experimental Theater, starring Wang Jiajun, Chen Hongxu and Shi Yunpeng, is set against the backdrop of World War II and shows the fate of three young people who met in the ruins of Leningrad under fire, and in the span of more than ten years, they met and separated again and again, and finally found their own way. Director Lin Cong said that the story takes place in 1942, it looks like a love triangle, which actually explores what happiness is, and it is also a story about youth, growth, ideals and choices, and discusses with everyone how people face disasters and life in the context of the times.
As a work that cultivates young people, the play spans more than ten years in time, and the rehearsal is enough to give the actors a new understanding of fate. The name Albudrov is not unfamiliar to Chinese theater audiences, in 2019, Renyi for the first time put his work "Old-fashioned Comedy" on the stage, and this year chose his work as the first new play of the small theater, which will continue the author's deep, delicate and open style.
"There are many layers in this work, from philosophical reflections on life, with inspiring enthusiasm, and confusion about how to choose when someone faces a disaster." Director Lin Cong introduced that the playwright explored the aspects of love, ideals, and life in one life-oriented scene after another, and saw profoundly in trivialities. "How people keep their original ideals, how to make choices, I think everyone will see themselves in them, or remember what they looked like when they were young."
And Lin Cong also has an identity, that is, the daughter of "great director" Lin Zhaohua, although his father did not have too many words for his return to the theater to direct a drama, but Lin Cong said that his father once said that his children did not love drama, and this return can also be regarded as a response to his father's "complaints". But in fact, from the beginning of its inception, the "Lin Zhaohua Drama Invitation Exhibition" was supported by his sons and daughters.
For the three young actors, on the one hand, they want to perform the rich and sensitive inner world of the characters in the play, on the other hand, they need to accompany the characters to complete the growth and transformation again and again, this change is not the maturity of the external image, but is reflected through the performance of the characters. The script has a poetic language that will build a bridge between the ideal and the reality for the audience, the audience will not only be a viewer, but also a participant in the theater, and the Renyi Experimental Theater will also be recombined into a two-sided stage.
Lin Cong said: "This will be a play that the audience can enjoy quietly in the theater, with a poetic sadness, like a stream flowing slowly." This is a play that can be watched more than once, and every time you watch it, you will experience a different situation. ”
It is reported that from March 12, the play will premiere at the Renyi Experimental Theater.
