The theme of this year's China Environment Day is "Beautiful China, I am an actor", which aims to promote all sectors of society and the public to participate in the construction of ecological civilization, so that our country's sky is bluer, the mountains are greener, the water is cleaner, and the environment is more beautiful, so that the concept of green water and green mountains is the golden mountains and silver mountains are more fully displayed on the motherland.
Since the launch of the "Blue Ribbon Action to Defend the Blue Sky" launched by Chinese artist Chen Yadan on June 5, 2017, it has not only received enthusiastic responses from all walks of life in 34 provinces and cities in China, but also sent out China's environmental protection voice in the United States, Antarctica, Japan and other places.
The people involved in "Defending the Blue Sky Blue Ribbon" are not only artists, but also environmental veterans from all walks of life. In addition to the response activities, primary school teachers also led the students to research, pay attention to and actively participate in environmental protection issues.
Some outstanding environmentalists have expanded the original single photography display method of "Defending the Blue Sky Blue Ribbon Action" into a richer variety of environmental protection theme works such as environmental protection shows, calligraphy and painting, poetry, music, etc., and will hold award activities for works.
The Blue Ribbon Public Welfare Action encourages all volunteers to: starting from the artistic creativity of life itself, displaying the Blue Ribbon with creative and imaginative performance art, and using photography as a medium to promote the concept of environmental protection through multiple channels to express environmental protection attitudes.
Chen Yadan, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, is not only an artist, but also a pioneer in environmental protection. She was one of the first forerunners to raise environmental issues when people were keen on overexploitation to destroy the environment.
In the 1990s, she created a large number of works and held solo exhibitions in contrast to the last pure land in the world, Antarctica, and Loulan, which disappeared due to ecological destruction, and soon took the lead in promoting the widely acclaimed "100 Female Painters and 100 Small Painters Come True Green Dream Exhibition" in Beijing. She led female painters to plant trees, braved the heat and heat to shoot public service advertisements in Lop Nur and wrote articles calling for environmental protection.
In 1998, as the only artist, she participated in the "National Seminar on The Prevention and Control of Desertification in the North and the Interruption and Serious Water Shortage of the Yellow River" with her works, and jointly wrote to the central government with li zhengdao and other scientists, solemnly proposing the seriousness of China's environmental problems.
In 2017, when the 46th World Environment Day and China's 3rd Environment Day arrived, Professor Chen Yadan vowed to take on the mission of great love and art, and personally initiated, planned and organized the "Blue Ribbon Action" with far-reaching influence.
