"If you complain about the hard work, if you feel aggrieved in your heart, first look at the following picture." 30,000 people supported the safety of 7 million people, maintained the order of more than 3 million people to work, and after a short break, they had to devote themselves to the stormy work, sincerely salute! This is a retweeted post on Facebook yesterday (September 4) morning by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's wife, Ms Ho Ching. The post was accompanied by several images of police officers falling asleep on the spot after work.

Who is He Jing? Why did she stand up for the Hong Kong police? In Uncle Hai's view, this has a lot to do with her life experience. Ho Ching came from a Singaporean merchant family, served in Singapore's Ministry of Defence, took good care of the sick children left behind by Lee Hsien Loong's ex-wife after marrying Lee Hsien Loong, and later became CEO of Temasek – all these experiences should have given her a deep understanding of a truth: in a contemporary business society, a society governed by the rule of law, the police guard the bottom line of a city's safety.

Singapore and Hong Kong are similar to some extent, but there are many differences. Let's look at the similarities first: both places are mainly Chinese societies; both have been ruled by British colonists; and both belong to commercially developed trading ports. But the two cities also have many differences. After secession from British rule, Singapore joined the Federation of Malaysia for a time, but the whole of Malaysia once excluded the Chinese. Singapore's independence was largely forced by the exclusion of other states in the Federation of Malaysia; and When Hong Kong returned to the motherland, it established a special administrative region, and the people of the motherland often looked up to the city and loved it, and until now the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area still gives many expectations. After Singapore broke away from British rule, it underwent a relatively thorough decolonization transformation - when Singapore was founded in 1965, Lee Kuan Yew re-sorted the civil servants left by the British, strictly examined their identities, and retrained them, and finally required all civil servants to swear allegiance to Singapore. Singapore even uses simplified Chinese characters. In Hong Kong, to this day, many streets are named after the governors of Hong Kong. The Governor of Hong Kong is the representative of the British colonialists in Hong Kong. Streets named after them – such as Pontian Hor Street related to the 1st Governor of Hong Kong, Hennessy Road associated with the 8th Governor of Hong Kong, Des Voeux Road associated with the 10th Governor of Hong Kong, Kintok Chi Ma Trail associated with the 17th Governor of Hong Kong... The decolonization of Hong Kong is very incomplete.

Born in 1953, Ho Ching, as a young girl, experienced the process of Singapore's separation from British rule. She then served in Singapore's Ministry of Defence, became a wife and mother, and became head of Temasek. This gave her a deeper understanding of the key role that police officers play in a society and the hardships of their work. At the age of 18, He Jing, who was both excellent in character and learning, won the highest local scholarship, the Singapore Presidential Scholarship, which has been received by less than 200 people since the founding of Singapore in 1965. After graduating from university, He Jing entered the Defense Laboratory of the Singapore Ministry of National Defense to carry out the modification and development of weapon systems, during which he was sent to Stanford University in the United States to study and obtained a master's degree in electrical engineering. Returnee Ho Ching was soon promoted to deputy director of the Singapore Defence Laboratory. Two years later, She joined Singapore Technology Corporation as Deputy Chief Engineer until she was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer. Almost at the same time, in 1985, Ho Jing married Lee Hsien Loong.

He Jing married Lee Hsien Loong

At that time, Lee Hsien Loong was only a brigadier general who had just retired from the army, and he was still married twice in rank, and what challenged He Jing more was that Lee Hsien Loong's ex-wife left two children, of which Li Yipeng had a serious albinism. But He Jing did not abandon it and took him around to seek medical treatment. Father-in-law Lee Kuan Yew wrote in his memoirs: "They gave birth to two sons, and Ho Jing also regarded the other two children of Hsien Loong as her own. ”

For the sake of the healthy growth of the children, He Jing refused Wu Zuodong's request to invite her to go out to the mountains to enter politics, and instead worked for a Singapore technology company. Until 2002, she became President of Temasek. Earlier, in the face of the invitation of Temasek's chairman, Ho Jing was very hesitant for a while - she was worried that if she did not do well, she would lose the reputation of her husband Lee Hsien Loong. After the Asian financial crisis, after 9/11, the global economy was sluggish. As a company regulated by Singapore's Ministry of Finance, Temasek does not have the name of a state-owned enterprise, which is actually a bit of a state-owned enterprise. When Ho Jing took office at Temasek, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. After taking office, He Jing quickly transformed it into a comprehensive enterprise with business scope involving telecommunications, engineering, logistics and aviation, and quickly turned a profit. This was followed by a sharp expansion of the company's capital to become a large group with $8.88 billion in assets. For some Hong Kong brands, Temasek has also invested a lot. Although Ho Jing has long since retired from Temasek, she cares about the Hong Kong police precisely because some Singapore companies are concerned about Hong Kong – only if Hong Kong has long-term peace and stability can business continue to make a fortune.

Uncle Hai feels that the recent violent demonstrators in Hong Kong from the perspective of his Singaporean friends confirm the old Chinese saying "bystanders are clean". After He Jing reposted, many Singapore netizens followed the post -

"Come on", "In order to protect everyone's safety, you take care of yourself", "Salute to the Hong Kong police", "Mr. Policeman, it is fortunate that the people of Hong Kong have you, a group of hard-working, tired, and just policemen, which is a blessing for the Hong Kong people and supports the police!" Hong Kong cannot live without you, please protect your own safety too! "The Hong Kong police are incredibly disciplined and restrained." Others wrote that "such a thing must not happen in Singapore, there is too much misleading information on the Internet".

For the social media itself, after all, He Jing reposted in her real identity, and she is the prime minister's wife, which really carries weight. Social media is no longer easy to delete her posts. It can be seen from this that she has a real reason for supporting the Hong Kong police, and can affect many people around the world!
