The merchant was pleased, because he destroyed his mouth with a small reed tube, and the scab healed in a few days, but he did not know what the disease was.
Regarding the treatment of sore diseases by the mother of the shellfish, there is also a legend recorded in the "Compendium of Materia Medica":
In the Tang Dynasty, there was a merchant in Jiangzuo who ran away from business for many years and was attacked by heat and poison, causing a small sore on his arm. At first, I didn't care, but then it grew bigger and bigger, and it grew like the size of a teacup mouth, shaped like a strange sore on a human face, the sore surface was uneven and uneven, and the shape of the mouth, face, nose, and eyes could be seen. Although the shape of the sore is strange, the merchant does not feel any pain, and the business is busy and cannot be taken care of. One day, the merchant drank in the inn, suddenly felt the sore surface itchy, the merchant played with the wine drunk into the sore "mouth", the sore surface color immediately became red, like a drunk, and the following wine dishes were fed to the sore mouth, the sore can also be eaten, more feeding is more food, more food is the flesh in the arm is swollen, after a day or two the swelling can slowly collapse, and then feed and swell again, very strange. The merchant did not know what the sore was, and he was quite frightened, so he went around seeking medical treatment, and all the doctors were helpless and did not know how to cure it. One day, the businessman met a doctor and told him the details in order to seek medical treatment. One of the methods taught by famous doctors is to use all the drugs - blindly taste to test the sores, to see what kind of medicine the sores are afraid of, and then use the medicine to cure it. According to the method taught by the famous doctor, the merchant bought all the drugs in the pharmacy and went home, and after grinding them into powder, they were fed into the "mouth" of the sores. There are dozens of kinds of medicines such as triathlonite grass and trees, all of which are harmless, and when the shellfish is fed into the "mouth" of the sore, the sore is even frowned and closed. The merchant was overjoyed, that is, he used a small reed tube to insert it into the sore "mouth", and poured all the shellfish powder into the sore "mouth", and the sore became scabs a few days later. Since then, people have known the efficacy of shellfish in curing evil sores.
Mussel is the underground bulb of the lily family of perennial herbaceous plants, cucurbite, prismatic sand and Zhejiang mussels. The first three are collectively known as Sichuan shellfish, which are mainly produced in Sichuan, Yunnan and other places; The latter is called Zhejiang shellfish and is mainly produced in Zhejiang. The earliest record of this product as a medicinal use is found in (Shennong Materia Medica), which is listed as a Chinese product. (The Famous Doctors' Catalogue contains its ability to "heal.... Cough on the air, quench the heat and thirst.... Ann Five Organs". The medicinal use of shellfish was not divided into varieties in ancient times, until the Qing Dynasty Zhao Xuemin wrote the "Compendium of Materia Medica", which clearly separated Sichuan shellfish from Zhejiang shellfish.
Shellfish function clears the heat and dissolves phlegm and cough, which is used to treat lung deficiency cough, phlegm less pharynx dryness, external wind fever cough or phlegm fire depression, phlegm yellow thick, etc., has significant curative effect, for the sputum cough medicine, is chuanbei cough lotion, snake bile Chuanbei (liquid), compound Chuanbei tablets and other famous proprietary Chinese medicines in the treatment of cough phlegm. Shellfish not only has a significant sputum and cough effect, but also has a good heat dissipation effect, clinically used in the treatment of fistula ulcers and swelling poison and cradle carbuncle, lung carbuncle and other diseases also have a good effect, so shellfish is also an essential medicine for treating sores. In the clinic, although Sichuan and Zhejiang shellfish have the effect of clearing the lungs and reducing phlegm and cough, the Sichuan shellfish is cool and sweet, and it also has the function of moisturizing the lungs, while the Zhejiang shellfish mother is more bitter and cold, and the fire dispersion is strong. Therefore, the former is mostly used for lung weakness cough, less phlegm and dry throat; The latter is mostly used for coughing with external wind fever or phlegm fire, and in the treatment of sore carbuncles, zhejiang shellfish is used to treat sores and carbuncles because of the excellent heat dissipation power of Zhejiang shellfish. Both are widely used in TCM clinical and folk applications.
Modern studies have shown that Sichuan mussel contains Sichuan mussel alkali, dehydrogenated Sichuan musseline, etc.; Zhejiang mussel contains Zhejiang mussel alkali, dehydrogenated Zhejiang mussel and so on. Both have pharmacological effects such as antitussive, expectorant, asthmatic, sedative, analgesic, antihypertensive and antibacterial. In addition to treating cough caused by acute and chronic bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections, tuberculosis, etc., it can also be used for the treatment of various other conditions.
1. Treatment of carbuncle swelling and pain
Serve fried in water such as Zhejiang shellfish, forsythia, gardenia, etc.
2. Treatment of fistula
Serve with mother-of-pearl, soap horn and rice wine.
3. Treatment of vomiting blood
Use the shellfish (cannon yellow) as the end, regardless of the time, with rice soup to serve, 6 grams each time.
4. Treatment of pediatric thrush
Use shellfish and honey to decoct and take the juice to rub the affected area, 4 to 5 times a day, all have a good effect.
5. Treatment of whooping cough during spastic cough
Someone mixed eggs with 2.5 grams of Zhejiang shellfish powder, cooked 1 piece a day, and took it for several days, treating 58 cases, with an effective rate of 86%.
6. Treat lung fever cough and phlegm, dry throat
One or two halves of mother-of-pearl (heartless), three halves of licorice (seared), and one or two halves of almonds (soaked in soup, peeled, pointed, and sautéed). On the three tastes, research into a fine powder, condensed honey pills such as marbles large, containing pharyngeal jin.
7. Treatment of prostatic hypertrophy
Zhejiang shellfish, bitter ginseng, party ginseng 25g each. Decoction is taken in 2 divided doses, 1 dose per day. 27 cases were treated, 11 cases were cured, 13 cases were effective, and 3 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 88.89%.
8. Treatment of milk is not passable
