Ye Qiwang: A technical expert who has been cultivating "Blue Pastoral" for more than 30 years

On July 7, 2017, Ye Qiwang was invited to participate in the activities of the Breeding and Stocking Project of P. longifolia undertaken by the Ningde Municipal Bureau of Oceanography and Fisheries.

Ye Qiwang: A technical expert who has been cultivating "Blue Pastoral" for more than 30 years

In June 2004, Ye Qiwang observed the hatching of fish fry in an experiment in Changsha Village, Songgang Subdistrict, Xiapu County.

Ningde Network News (reporter Su Xiaojie/ Wen) The ocean, like a vast blue garden, has bred a rich variety of fish, shrimp and marine animals and plants, bringing rich food to people's tables, but also bringing rich returns to aquaculture farmers. In Xiapu, which has 480 kilometers of China's most beautiful coastline, there is a technician who has been engaged in the promotion of aquatic technology for more than 30 years and has made extraordinary achievements in his post: he is responsible for the world-leading large-scale mud pond seedling technology of large-scale mudskippers; he has edited one of the "National Agricultural Vocational Skills Training Textbooks" of the Giant Yellow Croaker Farming Technology Series; in shrimp farming, he was awarded the chief expert of shrimp in Ningde City...

He is Ye Qiwang, director of the Xiapu County Aquatic Technology Promotion Station.

Cold winter diving to protect broodstock Adhere to the first line of production

In 1985, Ye Qiwang, who graduated from Xiamen Fisheries College majoring in marine aquaculture, came to Xiapu County Water Technology Station as a technician.

Not long after arriving at the unit, he had the honor to participate in the national "Seven Five-Year" research project - research on the stocking technology and breeding effect of Chinese shrimp in the Togo Ocean. Ye Qiwang is responsible for the wintering technology of Chinese shrimp.

It was the coldest winter of the year, and Ye Qiwang, who was preoccupied with work, did not even go home for the Spring Festival, sticking to the front line of the test site. Male and female shrimp used for breeding are called broodstock shrimp, and in order to avoid broodstock getting sick, shrimp ponds need to clean up bait residue and shrimp manure every day. Once, when Ye Qiwang was cleaning the bottom of the pool with a sewage suction device, he accidentally moved the glass cover of the outlet. The water rushed to the drainage channel, seeing that the broodstock were in danger of being taken away, Ye Qiwang did not think about it, immediately grabbed a glass cover, jumped into the cold pool water, blocked the outlet in time, and saved the broodstock. After coming out of the water, Ye Qiwang froze and turned purple, and his upper and lower teeth trembled.

It is precisely with the strength of not being afraid of hardship and tiredness and being serious and responsible that Ye Qiwang has achieved fruitful results in the field of shrimp.

In 2001, he bred more than 50 million Penaeus vannamei fry for the first time in eastern Fujian, and in the same year, the demonstration of Penaeus vannamei culture in South America was successful, which led to the cultivation of Penaeus vannamei in Ningde.

In 2016, Ye Qiwang participated in the demonstration project of the special fund project for the development of modern marine fisheries in the city - "Introduction and Breeding Experiment of New Species of Penaeus pea species", which was accepted in September 2016 and achieved a good demonstration effect.

With more than 30 years of accumulation, he was awarded the title of Chief Expert of Shrimp in Ningde City.

Earthen pond breeding large mudskipper fry technology is world-leading

In 2003, Ye Qiwang participated in the major project of the Provincial Science and Technology Department - research on productive seedling technology and standardized breeding of large mudskippers. Due to the habit of digging holes in the large mudskipper, and "the male mudskipper has few sperm and is difficult to spawn by artificial insemination", the effect of breeding large mudskipper fry indoors is not obvious.

In 2004, Ye Qiwang began the experiment of seedling breeding in the mud pond of mudskippers. This technology has no successful precedent in the world.

The trial was conducted in Changsha Village, Songgang Subdistrict, Xiapu County. When the sun is strong, the mudskipper hides in the bottom of the silt, and the fry are very small, "only 0.3 mm large, and cannot be seen without carefulness". To this end, Ye Qiwang came to the test site at about 7 o'clock every day to observe and test, staying all day long, groping for the spawning, hatching, and growth law of juvenile fish in the earthen pond. As soon as there was progress, Ye Qiwang promptly reflected the situation to two professors of Xiamen University stationed at the Taijiang Test Site, and discussed the change plan together according to the actual situation. Finally, the indoor and outdoor artificial batch seedlings of large mudskippers were successfully bred, and millions of fish fry were bred in outdoor earthen ponds.

In 2006, the project passed the appraisal of the expert group led by Academician Lei Jilin, and the appraisal said: "The results of the project have generally reached the international advanced level, of which the large-scale soil pond seedling technology ranks at the international leading level." ”

Life goes on and on. From 2008 to 2012, Ye Qiwang made subversive innovations in the traditional paradigm of mudskipper from four aspects: breeding mode, water level, fertilizer and harvesting. Based on the in-depth study of the large mudskipper, in the book "Questions and Answers on Marine Aquaculture Technology" published by Fujian Science and Technology Publishing House, Ye Qiwang compiled the chapter of the large mudskipper.

Introduce sea grape farming to benefit the masses

The upright stems are covered with crystal clear spheres like grapes, which taste as rich and juicy as caviar, known as "green caviar", and this marine plant is sea grape. It is reported that sea grape is a nutrient-rich edible green algae, containing a variety of nutrients required by the human body, with anti-cancer, anti-tumor, antioxidant, improve immunity, activate brain cells, purify blood, beauty and other effects, is a kind of raw food seaweed with health care functions, the market prospect is good.

However, sea grapes have very strict requirements for water quality, and the localization of breeding and promotion technology is not low. In 2017, when Liu Yanfei, a graduate student at the Provincial Water Technology Station, came to Xiapu to hang up his post, Ye Qiwang learned that she had deep research in sea grape farming and took the initiative to contact her. Impressed by his sincerity, Liu Yanfei agreed to cooperate with xiapu water technology station.

In order to make the project start smoothly as soon as possible, Ye Qiwang first advanced most of the funds. In June of that year, the sea grapes transited from Vietnam through the middlemen in Hangzhou, and after several twists and turns, they finally arrived in Xiapu. On the day of arrival, he braved the sweltering heat of mosquito bites, from noon to late at night, clothing gas stones, making different pattern frameworks, and removing diseased and rotten plants one by one, so tired that he could not straighten up. After a few days, depending on the growth of sea grapes, they are re-raised from an unsuitable frame to a suitable mode, from morning until late at night. Liu Yanfei was deeply touched to see Ye Qiwang, who is more than 50 years old, working with young people: "Ye Zhan is a cadre who really does experiments, and the only thing he thinks in his heart is that the experiment will be successful and benefit the masses." ”

Led by Ye Qiwang's example, the sea grape experiment was finally successful.

Ye Qiwang's contribution to Ningde aquaculture does not end there. In 1995, he first bred more than 500,000 Giant River Prawn fry in eastern Fujian, in 1996, he bred 17,000 juvenile Japanese ghost squid in Fujian Province for the first time, and in 1997, he bred 941,000 juvenile red fish in the United States, one of the earliest breeds in eastern Fujian; from 1999 to 2001, Carry out all-artificial breeding of ayu: 46,000 fry were bred in 2000, which was one of the earliest fry in eastern Fujian, and 3.3 million fry were bred in 2001, which was one of the earliest breakthroughs in large-scale seedlings in eastern Fujian.

Compile agricultural training materials, teach and pass on the scriptures and send treasures

In order to provide professional aquaculture training for the masses, Ye Qiwang often goes deep into townships and towns to serve the masses in the form of lectures or technical consultations. In 2005, Fuding City mudskipper farming has just started, he was hired by Fuding City Water Technology Station to Qinyu Town and Jiaomen Township to teach the masses the breeding technology of large mudskipper fish, and then often received calls from the people of Fuding City to consult the disease prevention and control, harvesting and other technologies of large mudskipper aquaculture, through his transmission and treasure, Fuding City's large mudskipper aquaculture developed rapidly.

In 2013, as a hired teacher of "Remote Training on Practical Technology in Rural Areas of Fujian Province", Ye Qiwang conducted live broadcasts on the public channels of Fujian Television station and the emergency consultation system. Not only are techniques such as "big yellow croaker farming", "large mudskipper culture" and "shrimp farming" taught by Ye Qiwang, but he has also been hired by the Ningde Water Technology Station for many times to give lectures at the city's water technician senior training class.

The text is full of words. In addition to teaching in person, Ye Qiwang is also good at writing articles summarizing the experience gained. For more than 30 years, he has published more than 30 papers, and has won the Excellence Award in the "Yujing Cup" and "China Aquatic Products" prize essay activities for many times, and the number and quality of papers are among the best in the industry.

From 2015 to 2016, he participated in the compilation of one of the "National Aquaculture Main Promotion and High Efficiency Technology Series" compiled by the National Aquatic Technology Promotion Station - standardized breeding of giant yellow croaker to get rich technology and examples.

In 2016, he participated in the preparation of the national standard "Technical Specifications for Artificial Breeding of Yellow Croaker", and has now completed the review draft; in the same year, he participated in the Municipal Modern Fisheries Project - Ningde Aquaculture Status and Sustainable Development Strategy Report Project, and independently wrote the research on the current situation and sustainable development strategy of shrimp farming in Ningde City; from 2015 to 2017, he participated in the compilation of one of the "National Agricultural Vocational Skills Training Textbooks" for the compilation of the Giant Yellow Croaker Farming Technology Series (Beginner, Medium and High). In order to write this textbook of more than 100,000 words without affecting the normal work, rest and vacation time were also used by him to collect information, organize and analyze, write, and revise drafts. At present, this textbook has been completed and has passed the preliminary review to be published.

■ Reporter's Note:

"There is a specialization in the art industry". For more than 30 years, Ye Qiwang has made unremitting efforts to guide practice with theory, and has taken advantage of opportunities such as squatting, seedling raising, implementing scientific research projects and going down to the front line of production to carry out experiments, demonstration, promotion, disease prevention and other work. At the same time, he turned the experience summarized in the first line of production into theory, summarized the test results and wrote a thesis, and guided fishery production on a larger scale. This is Ye Qiwang, who has worked tirelessly for more than 30 years to refine a valuable wealth that can benefit the people, benefit the fishery economy of Ningde, and pass on to future generations.
