Since last year, Laozhou Township has vigorously carried out the comprehensive demonstration belt around the island, and the appearance of this former "Jiangxin Xiaozhou" has been further improved, becoming a beautiful "river garden".
"It used to be an old house of the neighbor's house, but last year it was renovated and relocated, and now this pavilion has been built. A few of our old guys didn't have anything to do, so they walked along the trail together, and when they were tired, they sat here and sat down, and it felt good. In a newly built pavilion, several local elderly people were listening to a play and chatting in the pavilion.
Nowadays, the dry toilets of farmers' homes on the roundabout road have also been completely demolished, sanitary toilets have been carried out, 4 tourist public toilets have been built, and the ponds next to the road have been dredged, and the water surface is now much cleaner. "My favorite is still this full of flowers, fragrant and beautiful." The old man said happily.
"There are many varieties of flowers and trees, all planted during the renovation of the comprehensive demonstration belt around the island, in addition to the chrysanthemums and Dragon Boat Festivals that are now opening, there are more than ten varieties of red plums, begonias, ziwei, cherry blossoms and so on." The relevant person in charge of Laozhou Township said that in order to solve the problems of dirty, chaotic and poor on both sides of the township's roundabout road and effectively improve the production and living environment of the masses, the township has carried out a comprehensive demonstration belt rectification project around the island since last year. The remediation ranges from Guanghui Village to Central Village, with a total length of 17.5 kilometers along the route, involving 4 administrative villages and 11 natural villages.
It is understood that the project focuses on garbage cleaning, sanitary toilets, daily cleaning, building façade improvement and greening of nodes along the way within the visible range of both sides of the road, creating a boutique landscape belt and an island movement belt. Since the implementation of the project, a total of 2013 tons of garbage, 3421 tons of debris, 41102 tons of sludge have been cleaned up, 130 dry toilets, 1077 meters of dilapidated courtyard walls, 80 pig pens, 118 chicken coops, 134 firewood stacks have been removed, and 133 households have completed the task of changing toilets, 4 new tourist public toilets, and 16 garbage houses.
At the same time, the township has implemented greening improvement for 17.5 kilometers along the entire demonstration belt around the island, and more than ten kinds of flowers and trees have been appropriately configured at some nodes to create an "aromatic path". In addition, sports landscape sculptures and sports road signs were installed at important nodes, and 100 road flags were installed and replaced, which comprehensively improved the cultural connotation of the demonstration belt movement. The comprehensive demonstration belt around the island has further enhanced the appearance of the countryside and created a characteristic rural tourism business card of Laozhou Township.
