American designer brand thom browne recently opened its first flagship store in Italy in Milan, bringing the brand's unique American nostalgia to the "fashion capital". Located in the designer via gesù, the 1,350-square-foot store was conceived by Thom Browne himself and implemented by Italian interior design firm asa studio albanese. Whether it's terrazzo floors, grey marble walls, shutters, or nostalgic furniture such as matching desks, beds and sofas, they all inherit the brand's signature '50s American office style, while the pieces cover thom browne's full range of designs from menswear to womenswear to accessories. For the brand's closing shop in Milan, thom browne said:
through my experiences in design, i have been visiting milan for fifteen years so i have a real connection to the city and specifically the street, via gesù. i want people to feel a real american sensibility walking into the store however, as much of the collection is produced in italy, this location is particularly special as it relates to the superior quality and craftsmanship the country has to offer.
