The Buddha Says the Eight Great Enlightenment Sutras

The sixth awareness is to complain about relatives and other enlightenment

People who live very poorly in life often resent society and other people, and because of their resentment, they form bad relations with people, so they will suffer bitter retribution in the next life. A person who practices bodhisattva behavior will often look at the root causes of various adverse conditions such as poverty and hardship in his past, so that he can cultivate generosity in this life and plant blessings for himself in the future.

When bodhisattvas perform great almsgiving, they have no discriminating mind and are able to treat their relatives equally, especially those who have had grievances with themselves, and they can also do not care about the past evils, nor do they have hatred for the evil people, and give the same treatment as their relatives.

Bodhisattvas give alms, waiting for resentful relatives

"Poor and complaining, crossed bad relations" is a description of the mentality of poor people. There is a saying in China that "rich but not arrogant, poor and not angry." Ordinary poor people will encounter many unsatisfactory things in life, and their own financial resources cannot meet their own needs, so they often complain about the world' affairs, and when resentment arises, they will resent people. Poor people, because of their material scarcity and hardships, cannot realize their own desires. Because of the suffering of poverty, there is often resentment in the heart. Because of the growth of hatred, they often create all kinds of bad karma in their hearts and minds, and form all kinds of bad relations with people.

In today's society, there are also many people from poor families, who do not change their fate through their own struggles, but believe that social injustice causes their poverty. They hate those who have lived richer than themselves through hard work, and some even commit criminal acts of violating the law and discipline out of jealousy. There are also some poor people who come to the city, not through diligence to change their fate, but to do things like stealing over the wall, posing a threat to the property and lives of others. Until they were finally brought to justice, they did not know that there was no remorse. Therefore, poverty and resentment and bad relations with others will not only harm others and harm themselves, but also cause bad social impact.

"Bodhisattva generosity, waiting for resentful relatives." "Generosity" is one of the six degrees and is also one of the important contents of the four-shot method. Generosity is the giving of welfare and human righteousness with compassion. Book XII of the Mahayana Book of Righteousness explains the meaning of generosity: "To disperse with oneself and with oneself is called cloth; to benefit oneself is to be called to give." ”
