Ladybirds belong to the family Ladybirds of the order Coleoptera. The body is hemispherically arched, the surface is smooth, often with red, black, yellow, and white spots, and it is a brightly colored small insect. There are more than 5,000 species of ladybugs worldwide. According to pang hong et al. (2004) statistics, there are 725 species of ladybugs in China, of which 145 are plant-feeding, about 20 are fungal, and the rest are predatory ladybirds. The following are some of the common predatory ladybirds I have collected
36. Rump-spotted cryptocephalic ladybird

Ctyptogonus postmedialis Kapur, 2.0 to 2.5 mm long and 1.7 to 2.0 mm wide. The body is short ovate and arched on the back. The males are yellow and the females are black. The dorsal plate of the anterior thorax is black with a reddish-brown leading edge, and the male has yellow triangular lateral spots at both anterior angles of the dorsal plate of the forebreast. The elytra are black , each with an orange-red to orange-yellow spot at the end , the spot is round , or transversely ovate , or transversely kidney-shaped , sometimes the spot expands backwards to the end of the elytra , but the outer edge of the end and the elytra remain black margins , and the spot is either narrowed so that the elytra are all black.
Host: Aphids, etc.
37. Nine-spotted ladybird
Lemnia duvauceli Mulsant, 8.0 to 10.0 mm long and 7.5 to 8.0 mm wide. The body is wide ovate. The head is brown or yellowish brown. The dorsal plate of the forebreast is tan with a pair of near-quadrilateral black spots. The elytra are reddish brown , with a total of 9 black spots on both elytra , arranged in a 1-1/2-2-1 arrangement , in which the markings on the outer edge of the elytra are connected to the outer margin.
Host: Aphids.
38. Red base disc ladybird
Lemnia circumusta Mulsant, 4.6 to 6.3 mm long and 4.4 to 5.8 mm wide. The body is nearly rounded. The head is yellowish brown. The dorsal plate of the forebreast is reddish brown with black or dark brown stripes at the base. Elytra patterns are variable: (1) brown type: elytra wings are all light color without black parts; (2) peripheral type: elytra only outer edge black; (3) black slit type: the outer edge of elytra and sheath slit black; (4) erythroderm type: elytra black, each elytra has 1 oblique erythema on both sides of the small shield, which can be large or small, often connected to the wing base; (5) black type: elytra are all black.
Hosts: Aphids and citrus psyllids.
39. Four-spotted naked ladybugs
Calvia muiri Timberlake, 4.3 to 5.1 mm long and 3.6 to 4.3 mm wide. The body is short and ovate. The dorsal plate of the anterior thorax is brown with 4 white spots on the basal half, and sometimes the middle 2 basal parts are almost connected. Elytra are yellowish brown , each elytra has 6 distinct yellowish-white spots , arranged in a 1-2-2-1 arrangement , the outer edge of the elytra is milky white , sometimes the milky white edges are not obvious , and are spotted at the shoulder corners and ends of the elytra , so each elytra appears to have a total of 8 spots , arranged in a 2-2-2-1-1 arrangement.
40. Ladybird with large protruding shoulders
Synonycha grandis Thunberg, body length 10.5 to 14.0 mm, width 9.6 to 13.2 mm. The body is nearly round. The head is yellow and the top of the head is black. The dorsal plate of the forebreast is orange-yellow with large trapezoidal black spots in the center, and sometimes the central dividing line is faintly visible.
