M&G bio has invested in another natural pigment project in Zambia

M&G Bio recently announced that the company plans to invest 26.0824 million US dollars to build a natural pigment project in Zambia, mainly engaged in the planting, processing and sales of marigolds and other crops. It is reported that M&G Has invested in three projects in Zambia for two consecutive years.

M&G Bio is an internationally important supplier of plant extracts, and its lutein products have been made into a whole industry chain model from breeding, planting, processing and production to terminal health food. In the first half of the year, M&G's operating income was 2.099 billion yuan, an increase of 14.96% year-on-year, and the net profit was 189 million yuan, an increase of 24.11% year-on-year. The new project invested in Zambia is expected to produce 64,800 to 86,400 tons of marigold flowers per year, which can be processed into 749.4 tons of lutein extract for sale in China, and further processed at the domestic production headquarters or directly sold to the outside world.

"At present, the market for chili red, chili oleoresin, lutein and other products is in short supply, and we adhere to scientific and technological innovation to make chenguang extract products synonymous with high quality in the industry." However, the proportion of raw material costs is getting higher and higher, so it is necessary to develop planting bases to create front-end raw material advantages. Chenguang Biological related personnel said that the construction project in Zambia, on the one hand, will help promote the construction of the company's international base, and the cultivated land developed by it will plant the production raw materials such as marigolds, peppers, and stevia needed by the company to ensure a stable supply of production raw materials. On the other hand, reducing production costs, Zambia and even Africa have abundant land resources with high farming potential and low labor costs. In addition, this is also the need to adjust the industrial structure.

"We allocate and integrate resources on a global scale, and through the superposition of raw materials, production technology, market resources and management, we can ensure that the company has a strong competitiveness in the pepper red and lutein industries in the next two decades." We hope to make the plant extraction industry the first in the world and contribute to human health. The above-mentioned relevant personnel said. (Reporting by Zeng Liangliang in Beijing)
