Of course, strictly speaking, the Japanese in the play is quite chaotic, for example, the general Yoshio Shinozuka actually uses honorifics to speak to the messengers, which is roughly equivalent to: Your Excellency, if you can show me today's telegram, the contemptible people will be very grateful.
However, although "Bright Sword" speaks Japanese a little roughly, it is more pure than the various "golden tickets" that we are familiar with at that time. Interestingly, the famous actor Koji Yano was once asked a question in an interview, do you Japanese people usually say things like "yours, your conscience is great, bad"? Koji Yano sincerely stated that the Japanese never talk like this.
So those "eight-way, cunning and cunning" that we are familiar with are all fake Japanese?
In fact, it is really not fake Japanese, but the standard "Dabing Chinese language" in World War II, that is, the "Concordia language" specially written by Japan for communication between the military and the Chinese people, such as the familiar "commuting", "photo" and "cuisine" that we are familiar with have been compiled into the Concordia textbook.
And the reason why we are so familiar with these concordias is because of a movie and a filmmaker, that movie is "Tunnel War", and the old filmmaker is Wang Xiaozhong, who is known as a "ghost professional household".
1. Students under the iron hooves of the Japanese army
Born in Shenyang in 1928, Wang Xiaozhong spent fourteen years as a slave in the Occupied Northeast and saw too many Japanese soldiers and Officers.
In 1942, Wang Xiaozhong was admitted to the Telecommunications Department of the Fengtian Railway College, which was all Japanese from principal to teacher, including instructors and house supervisors, most of whom were retired Japanese officers. These people promote the so-called Bushido spirit in schools, and they often beat students at every turn and prevent you from falling.
Wang Xiaozhong recalled that at that time, their house supervisor was a Japanese officer, and he usually smiled and giggled at the students, but when he turned his face and quickly got started, he did not allow you to shout pain, and this house supervisor also became one of the people Wang Xiaozhong remembered most deeply.
Later, When Wang Xiaozhong was filming "The Eternal Wave", he shared the same room with Sun Daolin, who told him that if he wanted to play a role, he must integrate himself into the life of that person, and then extract the role from life. This was an inspiration for Wang Xiaozhong. Later, when he performed "Tunnel War", he refined the image of the house supervisor and dissolved it into Captain Yamada.
Before Tunnel Warfare
Wang Xiaozhong joined the army in 1949 and was later assigned to the Drama Troupe of the Political Department of the Shenyang Military Region as a drama actor, with colleagues including Wang Xingang, Zhang Liang, Tian Hua and Xing Jitian, who were later transferred to the Bayi Film Studio.
In 1956, Wang Xiaozhong starred in his first film "Growth in Battle", in which he played a villain role landlord's son Yang Yaozu, from this role he almost became a special actor to play the villain.
In "Huimin Detachment", Wang Xiaozhong plays the traitor Bai Shouren, and in "Raid" he plays the leader of the Search Team of the South Korean Army, and the image of these roles is not small compared with the image of the ghost after Wang Xiaozhong, which makes people think at first glance that this is his role.
Wang Xiaozhong's acting pays attention to details, such as his role as an enemy battalion commander in "Breaking Through wujiang", he set this battalion commander as a stutter, for which he deliberately figured out the way of speaking for a long time, rather than simply stuttering.
One day Wang Xiaozhong met a "stutterer" on the bus, and he found that this person usually spoke normally, but he could not say it on the key words, and his face was flushed with anxiety. Wang Xiaozhong suddenly realized, he quietly followed the passenger and helped him guide the way and even enthusiastically helped him to do things, in order to continue to listen to him.
Wang Xiaozhong first played the ghost officer in "The Eternal Airwaves", he played a Chinese Tongzhongcun, this role did not show his Japanese ability, but once again showed his ability to dig out details. Through his communication with the old telegrapher, he unearthed the detail that the telegrapher's fingers were flat, and then the scene became a classic flower arrangement in the movie.
In "Wildfire Spring Breeze Fighting Ancient City", Wang Xiaozhong reproduced the classic Japanese image for the first time, and the Japanese intelligence adviser Tada played by him was not much different from the Japanese in appearance, expression and action.
III. Classic "Tunnel Warfare"
The film "Tunnel Warfare" was originally a military teaching film, and it was the kind of film that was not released to the public. Therefore, the film only used a few professional actors from the Bayi Film Studio, including Wang Xiaozhong, Daniel Zhang Hand, Liu Jiang and Xie Wan and a few people, and most of the other roles were used by drama actors from the Engineering Corps Literary and Labor Troupe, such as Gao Chuanbao.
However, in the actual shooting, Wang Xiaozhong and Liu Jiang often added drama to the plot, making the characters more vivid and three-dimensional from simple faces, so they even advised the director to add more drama and follow the number of feature films. Although the director is Ren Xudong, who came from a military teaching film, he is more enlightened, gladly adopts the opinions of the actors, and shoots the entire military teaching film according to the feature film, and finally this military teaching film has become a classic anti-war film in China.

The reason why Wang Xiaozhong's Captain Yamada has become one of the classic images of the ghost officer is that on the one hand, his appearance, expression and movements are very professional, on the other hand, he has to mention Wang Xiaozhong's Japanese talent.
In the film, wang Xiaozhong's Japanese is mainly divided into two kinds, one is simple Japanese, and it belongs to a relatively vulgar Japanese system, the typical Japanese officers use the subordinates, which is very authentic.
For example, Captain Yamada's Japanese phrases such as "shoot", "fire", "assault", etc., even Japanese professionals think that their pronunciation, tone and even expression can be described as extremely authentic, and it does not feel like the Japanese spoken by Chinese.
The "concordia" spoken by Captain Yamada has become a classic sentence pattern for japanese people in anti-war dramas, which not only affected many audiences, but also affected the shooting of many anti-Japanese film and television dramas in the future to a certain extent.

After "Tunnel Warfare"
Wang Xiaozhong played too many Japanese officers and various villain roles, of course, there are side effects, in 1969 he was forced to demobilize as a soldier back home, and then assigned to the Harbin locomotive maintenance section as a mechanic worker, and he also had the same fate as Zhang Liang, Xing Jitian and Zhang Huaizhi.
Originally thought that they were going to bid farewell to the film industry completely, they were welcomed by the Pearl River Film Studio, and several old drama bones were invited to go south to Guangzhou to continue to be actors. In 1973, the policy was restored, and the Bayi Film Studio wanted to transfer several meritorious actors back to the factory, but After consultation with several companions, Wang Xiaozhong decided not to live up to the Pearl Film Factory, which helped them in the midst of danger, and they resolutely stayed in Guangzhou, and it was not until 1985 that they officially went through the formalities for changing jobs at the Bayi Factory.
In his days in Guangzhou, Wang Xiaozhong never learned Cantonese, he was afraid that after learning Cantonese, he would affect the pronunciation of Mandarin, and when it was time to make movies, he would have to trouble others to dub.
In his later years, Wang Xiaozhong continued to play his residual heat in film and television dramas, and successively starred in a series of films, among which he played the traitor Wang Yaoweng in the popular "Women's Rangers" at that time, but many viewers did not recognize it, and the actor of this traitor was actually Captain Yamada in "Tunnel Warfare" that year.
In 2016, Wang Xiaozhong died of illness in Guangzhou at the age of 88.
