The brown-bellied forest plover (scientific name: Tarsiger hyperythrus) is a small (14 cm) dark blue and orange forest plover. Male: Dark blue on the upper body, bright sea blue with bright sea blue feathers on the forehead, eyebrow lines, shoulders and tail, black on the side of the head, orange-brown underparts, white coverts in the center of the abdomen and under the tail. Female: reddish olive brown on the upper body, bluestone blue on the waist and tail, black blue on the caudal margin, olive brown on the lower body, brown on both sides and buttocks, brown in the center of the chest, and white under the tail cover. Iris - brown; mouth - black; feet - gray.

It is found in Tibet and the Nu river and Lancang River basins in northwestern Yunnan, mostly found in the low evergreen broad-leaved forest under the shrubland and the rhododendron bush in the alpine valley (in the Gaoligong Mountain area of Yunnan, at an altitude of 1950-3200 m).

Resembling a red-winged blue-tailed plover. It inhabits the bottom of forests or stands in open habitats. Not even afraid of people.
