Orange-breasted oreskios : Approximately 28 cm in length. The male has a black end and two pairs of tail feathers on the outer side, and a white end at the base of the outer 3 pairs of tail feathers; the wing cover feathers have dense black and white horizontal, and the flying feathers are black and brown; the chin and throat are olive, the thorax is olive yellow, and the rest of the lower body is orange-yellow. The mouth is lead-colored, and the feet are yellowish brown. Females have plumage similar to those of males , but have darker upperparts and black and brown transverse spots.

Distribution in China: Wintering in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, southeast coast and Taiwan in China. During the migration period, it spread throughout northeast China, Inner Mongolia, north China, Xinjiang, Tibet and other places. Nominate subspecies have recorded migrations in northeast China, Shandong, and Hebei. The wintering area is in the Yangtze River Basin and the provinces of East China to Hubei, Hunan and Taiwan. It is also found in southern Tibet. In winter, there are about 20,000 individuals in Poyang Lake.
The orange-breasted biting crane is a winter migratory bird in China. Every year, at the end of August and the beginning of September, they leave the breeding grounds and move to the wintering fields, usually arriving in China at the end of September and the beginning of October, and the time of mass migration is in mid-to-late October, and the latest is early November. Migration takes place mainly at night, with resting during the day to forage and rest. In the resting area, it is common to be with bean geese and hong geese, perhaps because of their similar food composition and the required habitat environment. The breeding season is from March to May, and it nests in natural tree holes or digs its own holes in the remaining trunks. The incubation period is 17-19 days, incubating the eggs in turn by the male and female birds, and the chicks are late adults.
