On the morning of May 19th, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Zhaoqing Campus of Songtian College of Guangzhou University was held in Zhaoqing, and the construction of this independent college that went out of Guangzhou to run schools officially started. It is reported that the Zhaoqing Campus of Songtian College of Guangzhou University is located in Lianhua Town, the southern foothills of the Beiling Mountains in Zhaoqing New District, with a total planning area of 1,000 mu, a land area of about 366 mu in the first phase of the plot, and a total planned building area of 365,900 square meters, which is expected to welcome the first batch of new students in September 2021.

He introduced that the Songtian College of Guangzhou University has always been based in the Pearl River Delta, docking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to build advanced manufacturing, strategic emerging industries and modern service industries. Since then, it will continue to deeply dock with the industrial needs and talent needs of Zengcheng and Zhaoqing to build new energy vehicles, advanced equipment manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, adjust and reconstruct disciplines and professional groups, focus on the construction of "modern service industry" and disciplines with "new engineering" characteristics, create school-running characteristics, better serve the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promote scientific and technological innovation and economic and social development in Guangdong and even the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
