From Huangshan (see Xishan Yijing 15 for details) to the west 200 miles to Cuishan (one is said to be a small stone mountain in Qinghai, the other is said to be a mountain name that cannot be examined in Gansu), there are many palm trees and nan trees on the mountain, and there are many fine bamboo under the mountain. There is more gold and jade on the south side of the mountain, and more cattle (mao two sounds, with yaks), antelopes, musk (she four sounds, incense roe deer) on the north side of the mountain. There is a magpie-like bird on the mountain (lei three sounds), with two heads and four feet, and a black and red body, which can be used to prevent fires.

Two-headed four-legged fire beast - the eagle
Note
The double-headed four-legged bird in the above article, the partridge, has a special ability to extinguish fires, and the birds that have this ability in the Xishan Yijing include the red bird of Xiaohua Mountain (bi sisheng, which looks like a red golden chicken) and the "folk bird" of Fuyu Mountain (min two sounds, looking like a kingfisher with a red mouth), the original text is "fire", how to resist fire is not more described. I think this kind of legendary god bird must have some ability to transcend the rules of physics so that the flames cannot burn around them. By the way, the appearance of the crane, as if it was created by the laboratory of Frankenstein in foreign B-grade horror movies, completely crossed the theory of the origin of species. It will certainly be considered by everyone to be invented by the author, but through the reading of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the geography, humanities, and creatures recorded in it are still well documented in the current world, and the records are very rigorous. I believe that some of the rare beasts inside may just disappear in the long river of history.
