In 1993, Chen Yajun, who graduated from the medical laboratory major, was assigned to the Shaoguan Maternal and Child Health Hospital with his own ideals and beliefs, and has worked in the laboratory department and the laboratory and genetic center of the hospital.

In the past 24 years, Chen Yajun has worked diligently and diligently in his ordinary post, and his outstanding academics have won the trust and praise of peers and patients.

After working, Chen Yajun studied business knowledge assiduously, worked hard to study business technology, and continuously updated his knowledge to make himself strive for excellence in the business. Today, he is the director and chief inspector of the center for testing and genetics. He is proficient in various business and technical operations, familiar with the use, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all instruments and equipment in the department, comprehensive technology, rich clinical experience, and excellent ability to solve difficult problems in the work independently. He has published more than 10 scientific research papers (1 sci paper) in domestic and foreign medical journals; over the years, he has led the department to carry out dozens of new businesses and more than 10 scientific research projects, and is an excellent leader of the discipline of the institute.

In order to improve his level of medical laboratory theory, from 2003 to 2007, he enrolled in the medical laboratory major of Guangzhou Medical College at his own expense, successfully graduated and obtained a bachelor's degree certificate; this year, he began to use his weekend and evening breaks to study the systematic theory of genetic counseling. In addition, he also insisted on subscribing to professional publications such as "Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine", "Chinese Journal of Hematology", "Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology", and constantly learned to expand his knowledge.

Chen Yajun pays attention to the contact with the superior and the business department at the same level, and timely grasps the development of professional technology by strengthening the exchange of business information. Continuous study and training have enabled him to improve his theoretical level and professional ability, master new knowledge and new technologies, and apply them in practical work.

Scientific research leads fruitfully

According to reports, Chen Yajun has presided over or independently carried out newborn disease screening, non-invasive prenatal testing, Down's prenatal screening, cytogenetic diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of amniotic fluid and cord blood chromosome culture, PCR detection of 21 kinds of high HPV-dna genotyping, gene and prenatal molecular diagnosis of thalassemia, microdeletive gene analysis of y chromosomes, hp analysis of high performance liquid chromatography, detection of tumor markers, etc., and cooperated in new technologies and new projects such as tandem mass spectrometry to detect high-risk neonatal metabolic diseases. Among them, 6 won the first and second prizes of the hospital in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 for new projects and new technologies.

Under the premise of completing the daily clinical genetic eugenics testing work with high quality, he led the department to actively participate in scientific research on thalassemia, g6pd deficiency, newborn disease screening, tandem mass spectrometry technology, congenital heart disease and other aspects. Among them, three topics, such as "Research on the Management Model of Neonatal Disease Screening in Shaoguan City", won the third prize of Shaoguan Science and Technology Progress Award, and the scientific research project cooperated with provincial units won the first prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Since 2001, 4 cases of the world's first abnormal karyotype have been detected. Every year, 30-50 cases of major defects are found through prenatal diagnosis of amniotic fluid and pregnancy is terminated, which contributes to improving the quality of the birth population in Shaoguan City and reducing birth defects.

He began to establish and improve various management systems, establish quantitative evaluation and assessment indicators, so that the management of the entire department has rules to follow; establish a quality control system for the whole laboratory, participate in the province's inter-room quality evaluation, biochemical, clinical, immunological, microbial projects have been excellent every year; newborn disease screening, prenatal screening, chemiluminescence detection of sex hormone projects, hpv genotyping PCR testing and other projects to participate in the Ministry of Health's inter-room quality evaluation 100% qualified.

At the same time, Chen Yajun has set up an immunology laboratory, a cytogenetic laboratory, a clinical gene amplification (PCR) laboratory, an andrology laboratory, a high performance liquid chromatography laboratory, a prenatal diagnosis laboratory, a newborn disease screening laboratory, a trace element testing laboratory, and an infertility laboratory according to the requirements and standards.

The neonatal disease screening laboratory and the clinical gene amplification (pcr) laboratory led by him have successively obtained the admission and acceptance of the provincial and ministry of health in 2007 and 2009, and obtained the corresponding practice qualification certificate; in 2006, the "artificial insemination" technology of "fu sperm" obtained the access and acceptance of the provincial health department, and in 2010, the "ivy infant" technology obtained the admission and acceptance of the Ministry of Health, all of which have his contribution. In 2011, he led the discipline "prenatal diagnosis" maternal and child health care technology to successfully pass the provincial technical acceptance.
