A dark-skinned young man with a height of only 1.28 meters walked toward the center of the chicken shed with his hands on the bucket. Coming to the middle of the chicken shed, he gently lowered the bucket again, picked up the scoop again, and poured the feed intently. When you're done, pick up the bucket and go to another chicken coop... This has been repeated more than 20 times. Just feeding the chickens takes five or six hours a day to go back and forth, which is the most ordinary daily life of Wei Chuanbo in Changsheng Village, Yanjin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province.
Wei Chuanbo, 29, is a party member of Changsheng Village in Dousha Town, Yanjin County, and the branch secretary of the Banpo Branch of Changsheng Village. From returning to his hometown to work as a casual worker in 2019 to the present, he has become a big chicken farmer in the town, and the story of Wei Chuanbo returning to his hometown to start a business and take the lead in getting rich has been passed down as a good story in Dousha Town.
Black-boned chicken
Not afraid of suffering, not afraid of tiredness, seriously operate the "Black Chicken Kingdom"
The high road of the chicken shed is definitely an ideal "place to live" for the black-boned chickens who love activities, but this has become a major challenge on Wei Chuanbo's chicken raising road. Every morning, he pedaled a tricycle and dragged hundreds of pounds of corn kernels over hill after hill to reach the chicken coop. Carrying corn, raising chickens, picking up eggs, cleaning... These physical tasks can tire ordinary people enough, but they have never heard him cry out and be tired. "I'm a party member, and I'm from the countryside, and this bit of suffering and tiredness is nothing." He grinned.
Wei Chuanbo carried corn
Returning to the hometown has changed greatly, and the training of talents has yielded abundant results
Wei Chuanbo studied animal husbandry and veterinary medicine when he was in school, and in order to make full use of his professional advantages after graduation, he also ran a chicken farm in his hometown. Helplessly, the road is impassable, the traffic is inconvenient, the transportation cost is too high, and then it is abandoned. During his wanderings, he went to Beijing and went to Japan, where it was difficult to find a job and money to earn. In 2019, he decided to return to his hometown to start a business.
In his memory, the dirt and mess of his hometown is now clean and tidy: the once muddy roads are now clean concrete roads; the once low adobe houses are now brick houses and buildings. The village has also built a public playground: beautiful houses, wide playgrounds, high walls, and public toilets. Four solar-powered street lights are installed around the activity room, and at night, the street lights illuminate the event square. Usually, the villagers hold meetings here, and come here to entertain during the festival... The scene in front of you is no longer the countryside you remember. Seeing that his hometown is getting better and better, Wei Chuanbo's determination to stay in his hometown to start a business has become more and more firm.
In 2020, the Organization Department of the county party committee, the county agriculture and rural bureau and the county human resources and social security bureau jointly carried out a one-month "village (community) animal husbandry veterinarian training" at Yanjin County Vocational Middle School, and Wei Chuanbo, as a major in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, participated in the training. "The training class taught the breeding technology of black chickens, pigs and beef cattle, popularized scientific breeding, disease prevention and control, and preached industrial policies. There are special lectures, theoretical knowledge, hands-on exercises, and visits and learning, with a lot of content, many forms of training, and a lot of gains. Talking about last year's training, Wei Chuanbo was impressed.
Small and energetic, I am a party member and I take the lead
"The county party committee and county government put forward the three major rich people's industries of black chicken, beef cattle and bamboo shoots, as a party member, as a professional and technical personnel, we should respond to the call and actively participate in the work deployment of the county party committee and county government, I believe our county party committee and county government." When asked why he raised chickens again, Wei Chuanbo said firmly.
The road to raising chickens is not always smooth. At first, the idea was germinated, and the family strongly opposed it, pouring a basin of cold water on him: "You also raised chickens at the beginning, but you didn't make money. "Now you follow your father to do some odd jobs, and although you can't make a lot of money, you won't starve to death, so what do you have to toss those people for?" "You're not tall, raising chickens is all physical work, you can't eat it." ...... Faced with the opposition, doubts and concerns of his family, Wei Chuanbo was also caught in a dilemma, turning over and over many nights.
When the town leaders and village cadres learned of his situation, they went to his home many times to explain the current policy support to him, and analyzed his personal advantages and breeding conditions. They visited him again and again to give him a chicken reassurance pill, and the family's attitude gradually changed. "The town leaders and village cadres usually care about us, and the commander in the village often comes to our homes to ask us if we have any living difficulties and help us solve problems." Since they all think that raising chickens can make money, we must also believe and support it. Wei Chuanbo's mother said seriously.
With the encouragement of the town leaders and village cadres, with the support of his family, and with the support of industrial policies, Wei Chuanbo's "Wuji Kingdom" was slowly established. He began the day-to-day life of raising chickens: "Now the life of raising chickens is quite full every day, and the professions he has learned have been fully utilized, and he has also responded to the call of the county party committee and the county government, and I am also full of confidence in raising chickens." In the next step, I plan to continue to expand the scale, through the short video platform and to the surrounding areas to publicize, broaden the sales channels of our Yanjin black bone chicken, so that more people know about our Yanjin local specialties. Wei Chuanbo said confidently.
"He's a celebrity in our village, and his little body has a lot of energy. Optimistic and down-to-earth, the people in the village trust him very much, see his success in raising chickens, have joined the team of chickens, encountered problems in raising chickens, and always called him for guidance. Now, he has led 21 families in the village to raise chickens. His chicken farm has 26 chicken coops, with a total area of 1560 square meters and about 3500 black chickens. In the later stage, the scale of breeding will be expanded, and the chicken coop will be expanded to 50 3,000 square meters, which can accommodate about 25,000 black chickens. Zhao Yu, the village commander of Changsheng Village, proudly introduced wei Chuanbo's entrepreneurial story to us.
As we were about to leave, Wei Chuanbo told us that they still had a branch meeting in the evening. He will, as always, lead everyone to study the party's principles and policies, publicize the development ideas of the county party committee and the county government, and strive to lead more people to participate in industrial development and embark on the road of common prosperity.
