On January 14th, walking into Gongbeiwan Village, Longquan Town, Dongxiang County, on a cold day, the air was filled with the smell of snow and fog.
"You see, there's a zipper here, so be sure to relax a bit when cutting." Mahami, a Dongxiang woman, sits at a sewing machine and patiently teaches her daughter Ma Yanyan sewing experience.
In August last year, As the first batch of female sewers, Mahami and her daughter entered the village 'poverty alleviation workshop', and their lives were more secure and they hoped for a better life. However, because Ma Yanyan was new to sewing, she often had to ask her mother for advice.
Mahami's husband died young years ago, and as a single mother with three children, Mahami had a hard time.
"After the eldest daughter Ma Yanyan graduated from junior high school at the age of 15, I went to Xinjiang to pick cotton and dig onions, and she took care of her younger siblings at home and fed sheep. In those days, I didn't dare to think about anything, and I was afraid that my children couldn't say..." said Mahami.
Nowadays, there is a "poverty alleviation workshop" at the doorstep of the family, which can earn 5,000 yuan in 40 days, and the life of the whole family is guaranteed.
"Their family is a precision poverty alleviation household in the village, as soon as the poverty alleviation workshop was completed, I went to Mahami and told her that if she became a skilled worker, she would earn 2500 yuan to 3000 yuan a month." Ma Xiuhua, director of the workshop, said.
There are 5 heating stoves in the poverty alleviation workshop, which makes the factory building covering an area of 400 square meters feel like a spring breeze. In front of the 60 sewing machines were Mahami and her co-workers in overalls. Many of them are the first time to really "work to make money".
"I'm so happy to be able to take care of my children and earn money." Mahami said.
Ordinary people's lives have their own tastes, but their yearning for a better life is the same.
Gongbeiwan villager Min Yibula Heimujia, after becoming a sheep breeding technology demonstration household of Dongxiang County's Fumin Industrial Cultivation and Demonstration Project in 2018, increased its annual income from two or three thousand yuan to 20,000 yuan. The days are good, this former poor household, speaking more loudly, and paying special attention to its own appearance.
"We wear a little spirit, our own image is good, others look comfortable." Min Yibula Black Wood stood in front of his sheep pen, full of confidence.
Ma Jun, deputy secretary of the party committee of Longquan Town, Dongxiang County, and head of the Bao Village Working Group in Gongbeiwan Village, said that farmers like Min Yibula Blackwood can also enjoy the support fund of 10,000 yuan per household subsidy for each household in xiamen to subsidize the establishment of a card household on the basis of enjoying the 20,000 yuan subsidy for the poverty alleviation industry to the household project and the first reward of 6,000 yuan for the cattle and sheep breeding industry development standard project.
The strong willingness of local villagers to get rich has also allowed foreign investors to see potential business opportunities. Wang Yunlan, who has been professionally raising cattle in Zhangye for 11 years, came to Dongxiang and founded Daling Qianjin Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. in Dongxiang Autonomous County. At the end of December 2018, 600 cattle entered the market. Wang Yunlan introduced that 100 of these cattle are excellent breeds imported from the United States - golden Aquidan cattle, with good meat quality, fast growth period, high meat production rate, and low incidence. The cattle are still in the observation and adaptation phase, and if these big guys can adapt well to the climate of Dongxiang, they can train local farmers to feed together.
"By then, farmers will spend raising time per cow in half and double the revenue." Wang Yunlan said.
During the interview, the reporter deeply felt that the endogenous driving force for poverty alleviation has burst forth with vitality in Dongxiang County. Sparing no effort to run towards a happy and beautiful life, it has now become a "new fashion" in the ravine of Dongxiang.
