The film's screenwriter Anne Rice said in an interview that in fact, this film is about gay, but it is not the real core, the real core lies in the process of realizing that you are different from others, in whether you can really escape the possibility of your own essence, and the struggle when denying your own nature.
Such a topic can not be flaunted in the United States more than twenty years ago, the film may even be banned, many people will not watch because of the paranoia of faith, so it can not be blunt, it tells a gay story, but it must be cloaked in vampires.

He couldn't accept himself for what he was, he didn't want to admit that he was a vampire, even though he realized he was, and he said it was a curse from hell, but he didn't understand why God didn't ask.
He wants to live like a normal person, but that will only bring harm to the normal people around him. So he began to flee from himself and exile himself. Until he can have a child, he puts all his love on the child, because only then can he find a sense of return to the flow of people.
Struggling forward in the turbulence of fate, he achieved the leap from man to vampire, and also experienced all love and hate. By the time he identified with his true identity and understood the life he really deserved, everything he had once been had become a cloud of smoke, and the love and hate had passed, so he was the lonely vampire who told his story to a reporter.
Medical research has shown that some homosexuals begin to realize their sexual orientation at the age of 12, and other homosexuals gradually determine it from the age of 12 to 16, and most homosexuals can clarify their sexual orientation at the age of 20. You can also choose a compromise point between the two kinds of life, and the result is that you live like a human ghost or a ghost...
In the film, the beautiful little girl Claudia is killed by the theater vampires, and the reason given from the perpetrator is to punish her for killing Lestat, and from the plot analysis, it can be understood that this is just an excuse, in fact, Amon wants to monopolize Louis.
In fact, after making it clear that this is a gay film, claudia, whose appearance is fixed on the age of ten, cannot exist, and the identity of a child cannot complete that special self-identity, just as Amon said to Louis, the vampire world does not allow children to exist.
At the end of the film, Louis and Lestatt forgive each other, the film is more than two hours, but the two are relieved after decades, Louis can tell stories all the way to the end of the film, Lestat can drive a sports car to enjoy his new journey in music like the end of the film. Moreover, Louis and Lestatt completed the "alienation" of the journalist ideologically and procedurally, respectively, implying that a similar story would never be finished.
