At about 5:30 p.m. on the 18th, the Beijing News reporter saw that the Ferris wheel was located near Fuzhou Jin'an Lake Park, and the scene had been raised to a cordon, and there were staff on duty. The reporter noticed that the crane near the scene of the incident was also pulled by the steel bars dropped by the Ferris wheel, and the wheel of the Ferris wheel broke into several sections, and the falling object smashed the top of the Ferris wheel cockpit placed on the ground.
Witnesses at the scene told the Beijing News reporter that she was working in an office building near Jin'an Lake Park, and at about 2:40 p.m. on the 18th, she suddenly heard a "bang" and rushed to the window to check. "It was quite windy, and I saw the Ferris wheel slowly fall." According to the video it provides, the central axis of the Ferris wheel is distorted, and the reinforced structure connecting the Ferris wheel is swaying in the air.
Another witness said he lived nearby and was looking forward to taking his grandson up to sit after the Ferris wheel was built. "Yesterday we also saw that most of the wheels of the Ferris wheel have been built and now all collapsed."
According to previous media reports, the reporter saw at the scene that a person was trapped on the collapsed Ferris wheel hub, and there were staff at the scene who used a crane to save the trapped people. At 4:40 p.m. on the 18th, the Fuzhou Emergency Management Bureau responded to the media that the 4 trapped people had been rescued and there were no casualties.
The Jin'an District People's Government also issued a notice through the WeChat public account that at 14:47 on October 18, the outer wheel hub fell off during the installation of the Ferris wheel of the Aimolun Commercial Plaza Project in Yuefeng Town, Jin'an District, and after preliminary investigation by the Jin'an District Emergency Management Bureau, the Jin'an District Fire Rescue Brigade, the Jin'an Branch of the Fuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau and other departments, there were no casualties, and the specific cause of the accident was still under investigation.

According to the official WeChat of the People's Government of Yuefeng Town, Jin'an District, in early September this year, fuzhou Aimo Wheel completed the installation of the central shaft, and this Ferris wheel is the tallest Ferris wheel under construction in Fujian Province. The installation of the center axis indicates that the panoramic display of Fuzhou Aimo wheel has entered the countdown, and the revolver and pod installation will be opened around the central axis. The heaviest part of Fuzhou Aimolun is the central shaft, which weighs more than 160 tons.
The Ferris wheel project is located in the core area of the East Second Ring Road south of Chemical Industry Road in Jin'an District and on the north side of Jin'an Lake, close to Jin'an Lake Park, covering an area of 61 acres, with a total construction area of 130,000 square meters and a total investment of 1.33 billion yuan. The project will build the highest Ferris wheel in the province with a height of not less than 120 meters, and build a super-large Ferris wheel cultural tourism commercial complex integrating culture and leisure, art, catering and shopping, recreation, amusement and office around it.
