Paul Robinson has called United's target, Declan Rice, a "saboteur".

Paul Robinson has called United's target Deklan Rice a "spoiler" as he is one of the Premier League's "best all-around midfielders" at the moment.

The West Ham and England star has excelled at both club and country over the past year.

Les helped the Hammers finish sixth in the Premier League in 2020/21 and was a key figure for England to reach the Euro 2020 final.

The 22-year-old started the season in good shape, with West Ham in fourth place in the league.

In recent months, Rice has been linked to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Robinson revealed to Football Insider that Rice showed people that he had "something more in the game":

"In its current state, Rice is the premier League's best all-around midfielder. His team is now taking off.

"I think his pairing with Calvin Phillips in England is fantastic.

"I know Rice is still very young, but he's been proven now. This season he has taken on responsibilities at both ends of the pitch.

"He's always been good at sitting in front of the four defenders to protect the backline. However, this season he has proven he has more to play.

"He's a spoiler, but he's also a goal threat and creator now. His insight into straight passes is amazing. He has proven that he can play a devastating role in higher positions and deeper positions. ”

Separately, Ian Wright called on Les to stay at West Ham, despite United's interest in him:

"West Ham are in the top four now, but people always say That Dekland should leave. He shouldn't have left yet. ”

De Klan is captain of the West Ham Semifinals. When Declan was able to lead West Ham into the top four, why would he go anywhere in the next few years?

He added: "Rice could play in the Champions League at West Ham, he's captain. Fight west ham as much as you can and give them another four years. You will still be at your peak. ”

Rice had no reason to leave. If I were a member of his squad, I would tell him to stay at West Ham and keep improving. He fought for England and West Ham United. Why leave? He should stay and continue to put pressure on West Ham. ”
