Today, a meat friend asked Elder Tang: Which is the succulent black prince or Romeo? What is the difference in maintenance?
The three-headed Black Prince
The Black Prince is a hybrid of ancient purple and Savina, so its leaf color is not simply black, sometimes it is darker, and sometimes it is reddish, so some meat friends jokingly call it "Red Prince". The leaves of the Black Prince are long spoon-shaped, the leaf surface is relatively flat, the back of the leaf is rounded and convex, the apex is obliquely pointed, there is a long leaf tip, when the light is insufficient, its leaf color is green, and when it is well illuminated, it will slowly become black-red.

Romeo, also known as Taurus, is one of the most popular constellation succulents of the constellation a few years ago, and is also a succulent of the Dongyun lineage, but it is not a hybrid succulent, but a variation of the Charm Night (lipstick). Romeo's leaves are also spoon-shaped, the leaf surface is relatively flat, the leaf back is triangular and convex, the front end is gradually pointed, there is a sharp leaf tip, the light is insufficient, its leaf color is white-green, and if the light is sufficient, it becomes blood red, if the temperature difference between day and night is large, it will also produce black edges and blood spots, which is extremely ornamental.
Romeo/Taurus
Although the Black Prince and Romeo seem to be two untouched succulents, they actually have some similarities when you think about them, such as the plant type is standard rosette shape, the leaves are very thick, the leaf shape is similar, and the leaf surface is also very smooth, not covered with white frost. In addition, the Black Prince and Romeo are very afraid of stuffy roots, and usually need to be maintained in a well-ventilated position, otherwise their root system is prone to problems.

The Black Prince and Romeo I have raised, of which the Black Prince was cured by me after being infected with bituminous coal disease, and then repeatedly infected, I threw it away in a rage, looking back at it is a pity, after all, the leaf cuttings have been raised for more than 5 years, and they have completely become the form of multi-headed old piles. Romeo I am still raising, it is sown by myself, belongs to the survivors of more than 10 small seedlings, and now the leaf exhibition has reached about 12 centimeters, I hope it can live well all the time!
Romeo's appearance is quite high
On the question of which is good to raise, the succulent circle has always had such a sentence: raising the black prince is the touchstone to test everyone's cultivation, as long as you can raise the black prince, then raising other succulents is not a big problem. As for Romeo, compared to its name and appearance, the most famous thing should be its maintenance difficulty - summer often inexplicably turns water black rot, and meat lovers who like it can only keep buying and buying.
The Black Prince is the touchstone for testing everyone's cultivation
From my maintenance experience in recent years, the Black Prince and Romeo are indeed not very good to raise, but the maintenance difficulty of the former is relatively lower than that of the latter, at least the Black Prince I began to raise from the time of novice, in addition to the bituminous coal disease, the other really has not had any problems. Romeo is more exaggerated, I sowed 10 seeds all out of the seedlings, but in the end there was only one tree, which shows how difficult it is to maintain.
Little Romeo
The Black Prince and Romeo are actually not much different in maintenance, generally using potted soil with a particle ratio of about 60-70%, usually placed in a well-lit environment for maintenance, watering to maintain the frequency of "dry and thorough". The black prince and Romeo in summer need special attention, it is best not to rain, while the temperature is too high to shade and control the water in time, about half a month or so along the edge of the basin a small amount of water can be, do not let the pot soil high temperature and high humidity, otherwise there will inevitably be rotten roots black rot.
