Nearly four years have passed since the spy drama "Kite", written by Yang Jian and directed and starred by Liu Yunlong, and its ratings on major television stations are also very impressive. In today's era when the audience is very picky, it is still a well-known level, which is very valuable.
As a spy drama that has been quite high so far, the most well-received thing is that it dares to discuss things from the perspective of human nature and history, and truly portrays another aspect of human nature. And it is not like other spy dramas that exaggerate the aura of the protagonist, but choose Zhou Zhiqian, whose identity is low to the dust, as the entry point. The willingness to make sacrifices to accomplish the task in the face of the great gap in fate with indomitable optimism makes the audience begin to think about this rather sacrificial human rift.
Its significance and value are self-evident, but the fertile soil is inevitably barren, and although the jade is good, there is no lack of flaws, and the many loopholes and hard wounds about "Kite" over the years are still debatable.
1. Plot
(1) The issue of Zheng Yaoxian's beliefs against the shadow and the brothers of the military commander
In the play, the choice made by Zheng Yaoxian between faith in great justice and small personal friendship is somewhat untenable, and there is no strong contradiction and conflict. From the perspective of the film alone, "the military command and even the kmt behind it seem to have died only to violent rule, rather than believing in right and wrong", which leads to the blurring of the source of faith on both sides. Zheng Yaoxian was unmoved because of his firm faith, and Lin Yao's willingness to die was also because of his own faith. The completely ambiguous treatment in the play makes it difficult to distinguish between faith and wrong, and also makes struggle and sacrifice infected with a certain sense of self-sacrifice of moral superiority and sublimity.
(2) Excessive exaggeration of the role of shadow Han Bing
It is mentioned in the play that the value of the seventy-three agents who were captured after lurking in Yan'an was not worth a "shadow", and the "shadow" Han Bing did not play the role of such a high-level agent as imagined in the whole play. It failed to prevent Zheng Yaoxian from returning to the Kuomintang area from Yan'an; misreported information resulted in four deaths and one injury to Ma Xiaowu and his party; peeked at top-secret documents on the construction of the third line, but only invalidly peeked at and could not be sent; and finally confirmed that Zheng Yaoxian's "kite" identity had passed for decades, and the change of era was of little significance.
(3) The design of the two plot lines is blunt
The two story lines that constitute a conflict in "Kite" do not seem to develop according to normal logic, and the collision of the two story lines often comes from the reasoning of the two opposing parties to each other, and this prejudgment is more like the premise of opening god's perspective, "I think they will..., so we want to...", "They think we want to..., so we want to..." The laying of the laying is not logical and common sense is more like the known ending reversal process, resulting in the story looking a little blunt and lacking a sense of substitution.

The play chooses to show Zheng Yaoxian's life in the form of a memoir, and the author of the memoir is Zhou Qiao, a daughter who has only met Zheng Yaoxian 4 times since he was 4 years old. This setting was complained about by many viewers, but some fans refuted this view on the grounds that the dissenting audience was watching a deleted version.
Objectively speaking, it is reasonable to evaluate a work based on what it shows and what the public can see, rather than digging into the root and going back to the whole source. Whether it is to delete or design loopholes for the sake of review, the official version is like this, and it is also the content that the drama party chooses to present after weighing the pros and cons, and there is a choice to tolerate nature, there is no need to say a word.
3. Intention
(1) Deviation of historical view
The view of history felt by watching the drama is to turn the war of liberation into a confrontation between two armies, there is no distinction between black and white, but each is its own master, and the main characters in their respective camps are infinitely loyal to their own camps and have no mercy on the enemy. Senseless right and wrong are outstanding, but in the end only one side can win, such a "loyalty" shows that the perception is not dependent on and the foundation is more like a warlord melee without a position, which eventually led to an ordinary change of dynasty, and the historical view is slightly biased.
(2) Cognitive dislocation
The most controversial issue in Kite is that it makes the protagonist resemble a religious saint, fanatically worshipping faith. Imperfection is the real norm, although there are hard injuries are quite controversial, but it does not affect "Kite" is still a spy drama that is difficult to surpass in the minds of the public.
