Hang Yanwen believes that graphic design has the ability to reveal and reconstruct complex hidden social information. She focuses on typography and brand image design. In addition to graphic design, she also experimented with a variety of different physical media to broaden her creative abilities. Exposing film in the darkroom, etching copper plates with acid, and shaping clay on pottery wheels, her experience learning pure art has led her to value the creative process rather than just the result. She believes that combining empathy, curiosity and passion can create something that is solid and will stand the test of time.
In addition to creating commercial value with her design works, she also insists on what she insists on, and uses graphic design to discuss social issues. Hang Yanwen said, "Many people think that becoming a graphic designer is a profession and a way to make a living. But in my opinion, graphic design, like the pure medium of painting, sculpture or installation design, is a medium of artistic expression. ”
"Don't get too caught up in design techniques, they will eventually improve over time and practice," she said at the end of the conversation, giving two tips to people who want to improve their creative industry skills, "The most dangerous thing is to focus only on keeping up with the so-called design trends and give up your identity as a creator." ”
