Synopsis

In the near future, in order to treat the increasing number and serious mental illness of modern humans, the Institute of Mental Health Research in Tokyo has developed a machine that can reflect the dreams of others. With the help of the micro-DC, the dream is presented on the monitor, making it easier to find the crux of a person's anxiety.

One day, three miniature DCs were stolen, and the dreams of the researchers involved were invaded one after another, and then seriously injured. Another identity of the beautiful medical doctor Atsuko Chiba is the dream detective "Red Hot Chili Peppers", who is able to experience dreams in sync with patients. In order to prevent thieves from using micro-dc to commit further evil, she has to sneak into the victim's dream to find the terrorist, and a battle full of fantasy and thrilling begins.

Atsuko Chiba's dream – Red Peppers

Atsuko Chiba's true identity is a seemingly ruthless healer, and in the dream, she transforms into the dream detective "Red Hot Chili Peppers", helping patients solve the mysteries of dreams by experiencing the dreams in sync with the patients. In the dream, the identity of "Red Hot Chili Peppers" is a naughty and cute, and good at observing girls, which seems to be another layer of personality hidden behind her professional identity.

Classic Japanese Movie "Red Hot Chili Peppers"

Red Peppers only appear in dreams, so often their personality traits break through many aspects of Atsuko Chiba. What's interesting is the playful cuteness of the red hot chili peppers chatting with the police officer (patient identity) in the bar, and the woman who can capture the secret of your heart, which really makes the male compatriots feel sexy. With the jazz style of its soundtrack "Lounge", I think it can make all men slightly drunk in the role of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

And the most wonderful thing is this scene: Atsuko Chiba and Red Hot Chili Peppers going out at the same time. When the boundary between reality and dream is broken, two characters appear at the same time, and the images in their own reality and dreams work together to face the crisis, this plot design really makes me feel very good and enduring. And I also noticed a detail: the real character Atsuko Chiba often blames the dream character Red Hot Chili Peppers in a commanding and reproachful tone, which also explains why the cold Chiba Atsuko will become a real character, and the repressed Red Hot Chili Peppers can only become a dream character hidden behind it.

It's worth mentioning: Atsuko Chiba and Red Hot Chili Peppers are voiced by "Kei Hayashibara", which is also the voice of The Famous Detective Conan. How, did you feel a sense of being in a big position? Ash Hara is also a doctor character with a cold appearance + strong thrust ability, and it is really a perfect match for Kei Hayashibara to voice Atsuko Chiba.

Artistic techniques – is it the author's ulterior motives, or is it the audience's conscious projection?

Classic Japanese Movie "Red Hot Chili Peppers"

A movie can't get so much word of mouth for its content alone. There are many ways used in the film to enhance the effect of the film, for example:

1. Contrast

As mentioned earlier, the contrast between the real personality and the dream personality of each character.

2. Repeat

The recurrence and transformation of scenes such as the police officer's magician's dream, the train dream, and the back-to-back dream (the effect of setting the puzzle), and the recurrence of the parade scene (rendering the scene and strengthening the effect), etc., all have the effect of enhancing the effect of artistic expression.

3. Metaphors and innuendos

When reality and dreams are opened up and the world is in chaos, the office workers who jump off the building in the parade, the idiots who shoot at the bottom of the skirt, the girls who help friends, the otaku, etc., are all all allions and ridicules of Japan's perverted society.

4. Borrow

Red Hot Chili Peppers incarnate as Sun Wukong; tarzan of the apes in many scenes and the interchange of characters; butterfly beauty's secret room, etc., are borrowed from the works of other masters of art, with the help of the "breakpoint continuity" of the dream, it is perfectly integrated into this film without any sense of violation.
