After Iranian media exposed the US military intercepting Iranian oil tanker footage, the Pentagon argued that it was "just surveillance"

Overseas network on November 4, Iranian media reported on the 3rd that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy recently blocked an illegal attack on oil tankers by the United States in the Gulf of Oman and attempted to steal Iranian oil. The Pentagon responded out on the same day, but argued that it was "just watching."

According to Reuters, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby called Iran's claims "untrue" in an interview and that the only person in control of the tanker was the Iranian side. Kirby also argued that the Iranian military had seized a Vietnamese-flagged tanker in October and that the U.S. military was merely monitoring the situation.

On the 3rd local time, Iranian media released a video of the confrontation between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and US warships in the Gulf of Oman, saying that an Iranian oil tanker was intercepted by the US military, but was successfully stopped by the Iranian side. The footage also shows Revolutionary Guards soldiers aiming machine guns at U.S. warships.
