Zhong Ling, born in 1966, a native of Kang, Southwest Jiangxi, is a member of the Communist Party of China, deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Rural Revitalization and Development Center, a first-class researcher, and a former deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Plant Protection and Plant Inspection Bureau and a researcher of agricultural technology extension. In 2006, he was awarded the titles of "National March 8th Red Banner Bearer", "Top Ten Female Masters of Jiangxi Province", "Advanced Individual of Knowledge-based Workers in the Province", and was rated as "National Advanced Worker of Crop Disease and Pest Control" and "Advanced Worker of National Agricultural Vocational Skills Appraisal" by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Zhong Ling was born into a peasant family in Gaokeng Village, Tandong Township, Nankang District, Ganzhou City. In 1981, she was admitted to the Department of Plant Protection of Jiangxi Agricultural University. In 1988, she graduated with a master's degree and was assigned to work at the Plant Protection plant inspection station of the Department of Agriculture of Jiangxi Province.

In order to familiarize herself with the business as soon as possible and increase her practical experience, in early 1989, she took the initiative to go to Rongtang Township, Fengcheng City, for a year to carry out systematic investigation, prediction and prevention and control guidance of crop diseases and insect pests with colleagues from the county plant protection station and the township agricultural technology station. This experience allowed her to quickly move from books to application, from theory to practice, familiar with the specific process and practical skills of pest monitoring and forecasting, master the methods and skills of training and guiding farmers to prevent and control pests and diseases, and rapidly grow into the backbone of plant protection and plant inspection technology in the province and even the country.

From 1990 to 1999, Zhong Ling was engaged in the monitoring and control of crop diseases and insect pests, and was busy as a good pest forecaster, control instructor and technical extensionist. Regardless of the severe cold and heat, as long as there is a serious occurrence of diseases and insects, she insists on going deep into the field to investigate and study, grasp the first-hand information on the occurrence of diseases and insects, and put forward scientific, effective, economical and safe prevention and control strategies and measures in a targeted manner.

In 2000, due to the needs of her work, she was transferred from the Monitoring and Prevention Department to the Phytosanitary Department, responsible for phytosanitary work. It was a new job, a new challenge for her. In order to be a good plant quarantine officer, she concentrated on using about half a year to conscientiously study and study plant quarantine regulations and inspection and quarantine techniques, and applied what she learned, combined with the actual conditions of Jiangxi Province, formulated 6 Jiangxi Provincial Plant Quarantine Management Measures, organized and carried out a census of the epidemic situation of agricultural plant pests and a pilot project of intelligent management of plant quarantine, so that the plant quarantine work in Jiangxi Province will move towards standardized, institutionalized and intelligent management.

In 2001, when she was investigating a flower farm in Longnan County, she found the quarantine pest cane moth that had never been banned from entering Jiangxi Province, and immediately proposed prevention, control and extinguishing opinions to the provincial government. The provincial government specially forwarded the opinion, and all parts of the province quickly took effective measures to control the spread of the cane flat moth and ensure the safety of agricultural production.

In late September 2005, Jiangxi rice planthopper occurred. Zhong Ling went deep into the homes and fields of farmers in the re-issuing area, guided farmers face to face and hand in hand, helped farmers control rice planthoppers, and preserved rice yield and quality.

Over the years, she has issued accurate forecasts of diseases and insects, and the scientific and practical results of the proposed control plans have been good. She has edited or participated in 13 books, published 9 papers in international journals and conference papers, published more than 40 papers in domestic professional academic journals, and compiled the "Ninth Five-Year Plan", "Tenth Five-Year", "Eleventh Five-Year" and "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" plant protection and development plan of Jiangxi Province.

Zhong Ling has made extraordinary achievements in ordinary jobs, relying on her excellent character as a communist party member, her firm belief in serving the "three rural areas" wholeheartedly and her dedication to the unremitting pursuit of plant protection. She devoted herself to the work of agricultural plant protection and plant inspection, and made outstanding contributions to the development of Jiangxi plant protection and agricultural harvest.
