From the end of last year to this year, the municipal level and 6 counties and 2 districts have respectively prepared and issued the "Aquaculture Waters Beach Plan", scientifically delineated the city's forbidden areas, restricted breeding areas and breeding areas, while focusing on the planning of suitable areas for cold-water fish farming, in June 2019, the national cold-water fish breeding mode on-site observation activities were held in Tianquan County, and the development of cold-water fish farming has become the main direction of the development of the city's aquatic industry. In the first half of 2019, the city's aquaculture area reached 799 hectares, with an output of 5800 tons, of which the cold-water fish farming area was about 212 hectares, and the output reached 3200 tons, accounting for 56% of the total output value of the city's aquatic industry, basically forming the industrial development direction led by the cold-water fish industry.

The city has established the main breeds of local famous and characteristic species represented by split-bellied fish ("Yayu"), and vigorously carried out the artificial domestication and breeding of cold-water aquaculture species such as split-bellied fish, sturgeon, rainbow trout and giant salamander. At present, the city has formed a yucheng district Zhougonghe Yayu Company, Yayu Association, Lushan County Baojian Fishery Company and Tianquan Run Zhao sturgeon industry as the leader of the characteristic aquaculture industry, of which Lushan County Baojian Fishery Company has obtained pollution-free agricultural products certification, leading enterprises have driven Yucheng District, Lushan County more than 10 townships and towns more than 100 households to breed schizophrenia and heavy split-belly fish, breeding area of more than 150 acres, production capacity of more than 1.4 million jin, annual sales income of more than 50 million yuan.

Third, break through processing and enter the high-end. Ya'an vigorously supports high-end aquatic product processing enterprises represented by tianquan run zhao sturgeon industry caviar processing base, and has achieved a breakthrough in the city's aquatic products processing industry. Runzhao sturgeon industry investment of 55 million yuan to build a sturgeon caviar processing base was officially put into production last year, the processing base is mainly to process Shi's sturgeon, Dashi sturgeon and hybrid sturgeon and other sturgeon species of caviar-based, to process fish meat, fish steaks and other sturgeon products as a supplement, the annual output of high-quality caviar capacity of 30 tons, is the largest sturgeon caviar processing base in Sichuan Province, the base environment is beautiful, the processing workshop is all built in accordance with international standards, the production of caviar, not only sold to high-end hotels and restaurants in major cities in China, but also to the European Union, Dubai and other world developed economies exports, has won the international and domestic praise, put into production in 2018 so far, Tianquan Run Zhaozhao fish meat processing reached 70 tons, the output value of 8 million yuan, caviar processing 25 tons, output value of 46 million yuan, to achieve export earnings of 4 million US dollars, sturgeon caviar total output accounted for more than 90% of the province, accounting for more than 15% of the country, the market share ranked second in the country, accounting for 7% of the global output, caviar after inspection and export to Europe, the United States, Dubai and other more than 30 countries and regions. The development of sturgeon caviar processing industry has not only achieved a breakthrough in Ya'an's aquatic products processing industry, but also enabled Ya'an aquatic products to enter the high-end market internationally and domestically.

Fourth, build a brand and enhance the image. Vigorously promote the brand building and image improvement of "Yayu", improve the puzzle of "Yayu" geographical indications, expand the "Yayu" brand, and create the image of Ya'an cold-water fish. Up to now, "Yayu" has obtained the "Yayu" geographical indication certification trademark issued by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce for our city, and the "Yayu" geographical indication product protection and the "Yayu" geographical indication registration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs officially approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China. This also marks that "Yayu" has completed the application puzzle of the three major geographical indications in China, and the quality of "Yayu" has been further recognized by the national authority and professional departments. With the continuous improvement of the brand awareness of "Yayu", other characteristic species of Ya'an cold-water fish, such as: perch carp, Iwahara carp, Baoxing naked cracked corri, bluestone climbing bass, Sichuan bass, Tianquan fish, etc. are more well known, with the giant salamander (baby fish), rainbow trout, sturgeon, perch and other high-quality varieties in Ya'an, the "Yayu" brand has been expanded to "Ya'an cold water fish", representing Ya'an's high-quality cold water aquaculture species, and enhancing the image of Ya'an aquatic industry in the world and at home.
