Commentary: There is a nationally renowned scholar in the field of historiography at Hebei University, who is a lacquer man with a distinct personality. Born in 1923, Professor Qi Xia is a well-known historian at home and abroad, the first doctoral supervisor in Hebei Province, and joined the Communist Party of China in 1984.
Born in a rural family in Juye County, Shandong Province, Qi Xia, who was born in a rare age, experienced the hardships of life since childhood, completed high school with loan money, and was admitted to the history department of Southwest United University, and has since formed an indissoluble relationship with history. How many historical works have been published now, even Mr. Qi himself can't tell. The 50-year road to learning has been accompanied by wars and various hardships in life.
His manuscripts and books were swept away during the ten years of catastrophe, which is a blow to a poor scholar and a historian who must use rich materials to do research. In the era of empty-handed criticism, he did not complain about the world, but started from scratch, once again read more than 700 kinds of anthologies and historical books Fang Zhi, accumulated more than 1.4 million words of information, and finally wrote a 930,000-word "Economic History of the Song Dynasty", filling the gap in the study of China's economic history.
Mr. Qi Xia's style of study has brought a pure land for the commodity society to devote themselves to learning, these disciples from all over the country, who have studied under them, have now made remarkable achievements, they all make the old man feel pleased, but also the embodiment of his teaching achievements in using Marx theory to guide the teaching of history and educating people, and the same as doing learning, despite the ups and downs, the old man's belief in Marxism has never changed, when he finally joined the party after 22 years of unremitting pursuit, he was 61 years old. As a historian, he is more profound and calm, how many things can move him, in the face of the doubts of others, Qi Xia said, "I joined the party not to become an official, but to prove the correctness of my faith." ”
Lacquer Man: I am a student of history, and I can see everything about the conspiracy, but I never have to treat anyone and colleagues with the same set of conspiracies.
Lacquer Man: To sum up, I have two points in scientific research, one is historical materials and the other is Marxism-Leninism. If two people have different theoretical levels, their future achievements will not be the same, and their achievements with a high theoretical level will be high, even if they have less historical data, then their achievements will be better. If you have the same historical data, you must have a much higher level of theoretical results.
Qi Xia: For the criticism before the Cultural Revolution, many people at that time thought that it was wrong, I think that as a reformed ideology, before the Cultural Revolution was not bad, but the methods and methods were not good, because intellectuals have a face, they can't erase, in fact, for a person who really demands progress, he doesn't care about those ways and methods, but about real ideological progress. Our young comrades must clearly distinguish what proletarian ideology is and what bourgeois ideology is, and only by advancing on the road of life can we have a goal; in my decades of teaching and scientific research, I have used Marxism as my guide, and I have not wavered in the past few decades.
Lacquer Man: In '57 and '58, when I was criticized for being cloaked in Marxism, I said that I was wearing a cloak, because I was not a Communist Party member, right, I also had my reasoning, I said, I put on today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, until I die, there is such a thing in logic, all false is true, I am a Marxist when I die (laughs). For young party members, in the ideological field, we must set strict demands on them and must not give up; especially in today's commodity society, it is very popular to worship Confucianism with money, and even if our young party members join the party, they will not be able to become strong in this era of wanton worship of gold, in which young or old people need to study Marxism-Leninism and even more need our thinking to be noble.
