Liu Tai martyr husband and wife

Text/Xiangxi Youwei (Miao)

"Dog Day, it's coming so fast, Xu Rong, persistence is victory, and when Yu Qing's door-to-door group is defeated, our next task will be much smoother..."

"Rest assured, old Liu, I have properly settled down the rescued party members and cadres and the revolutionary masses, and you yourself must be careful, I am leaving."

After Xu Rong finished speaking, he released his husband's clenched hands, braved the enemy's gunfire and bullets, and led the main force to rush to the enemy surrounded by the regiment, breaking through and withdrawing.

Xu Rong claimed that Lao Liu was her husband, Liu Tai, a guerrilla party representative in Leiyang County.

It was May 24, 1928. The location is in Yuqing's chicken nest.

Liu Tai, a native of Leiyang, became the chairman of the Leiyang County Federation of Trade Unions in 1926. He often went deep into the surrounding areas to guide the workers' movement and crack down unscrupulous capitalists.

In 1927, Liu Tai moved to Wuhan to join the He Long Twelfth Army, and served as a party representative of the six regiments of the army, participated in the Nanchang Uprising, and then returned to Leiyang to assist Deng Zonghai in rebuilding the CPC Leiyang County Committee, and founded the county party committee organ publication "Qi Tide". In 1928, he cooperated with Zhu De to conquer the county seat of Leiyang and established the Leiyang Soviet Government, which served as its chairman.

At the end of March 1928, Chiang Kai-shek dispatched heavy troops to carry out a "meeting suppression" of Leiyang, Liu Tai led the Leiyang Peasant Army to cooperate with Zhu De, and Chen Yi led the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army to Jinggangshan after a successful transfer, and also withdrew to Jinggangshan.

On May 4, 1928, Liu Tai, who was the representative of the Regiment Party, was ordered to lead the 34th Regiment into a guerrilla group of the Red Army and return to Leiyang to open up a base area.

In the battle of returning home, Liu Tai led the guerrillas to launch a fierce attack on the enemy troops who were blocking, and adopted the strategy of "attacking by separate roads and advancing at a rapid pace", and rushed to the districts and townships in five ways. Liu Tai and his wife Xu Rong led the southern detachment through the Mi River, crossed the water to the southwest of Leiyang, washed away the Mi river, fair, small water, and more than ten other door-to-door regiments, and were surrounded by heavy regiments.

"Old Xu, we must lead the team to break through and complete the tasks entrusted to us by the party and the people..."

When Liu Tai saw his wife Xu Rong leading the team to tear open an opening in the enemy camp, he was so relieved that he raised his pistol and pointed it at the enemy, and the enemy who rushed up fell down in response.

The enemy was like a honeycomb, and a force trailed Xu Rong's body fiercely, and the remaining enemies surrounded Liu Tai and a squad on a small hill.

Under the leadership of Liu Tai, the warriors had no fear, put their personal lives and deaths aside, and repelled the enemies who pounced on them again and again.

After several hours of fierce fighting, due to the fact that the enemy was outnumbered and the troops were disparityed, the soldiers fell in a pool of blood.

Liu Tai was shot in the abdomen, he forcibly endured the pain, hid his body behind a large stone, and when the enemy came up, he accumulated the last full body strength, took off into the air, opened his arms, and strangled the neck of the enemy company commander with his claw-like hands, and pounced on the cliff together, sacrificing heroically.

The reactionary Kuomintang of all evils found Liu Tai's corpse under the cliff and hung it on the gate of Leiyang city with a rope to show the public, and the poison of his deeds and the evil of this meaning made the descendants of Leiyang engraved in their hearts. What is even more distressing is that during the battle led by Liu Tai's wife Xu Rong to break through, in order to cover the breakthrough of other comrades-in-arms, he was unfortunately arrested and killed.

The majestic Wuling Mountains commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, and the water of the Lingling Mountains tells the legend of the Red Army!

The gunfire is far away, Fort Man! Revolutionary legacy, passed down from generation to generation!

In the journey of the Chinese people to realize the "Chinese Dream" and realize their dreams, countless sons and daughters of Leiyang carried forward the fine traditions of the proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation, inherited and carried forward the legacy of the martyrs, united as one, stubbornly struggled, and built "cultural Leiyang, ecological Leiyang, civilized Leiyang, tourist Leiyang, happy Leiyang, Ankang Leiyang..."

Let us always remember the martyrs and couples------ Liu Tai and Xu Rong! Don't forget your original intention, keep moving forward!

The people's heroes are immortal!!!
